All good news, FJET symbol obviously more appropriate, increasing awareness and raising the company's profile.

Morning - I'm sure there will be a further need to raise monies but for the short term it looks ok - We had £8.5mill in bank before this fund raise so around £13mill + a further £5mill standby agreement.

"I would suspect the strategy here is to change the company name, drive excitement and thus the share price and then raise these funds"

Indeed -

tomboy, I am not sure that all the funding they need is in place. They have raised about £5.5m at the latest PP. Assuming that the cash from the December placing has been more or less burnt up, £5.5m is not enough to launch an airline. They need to lease a couple of A319s and will have other significant capital costs. I think the capital required to launch will be more in the order of £25-£40m. I would suspect the strategy here is to change the company name, drive excitement and thus the share price and then raise these funds.

"Fasttjet will focus on developing a true low cost airline for Africa based on the existing Lonrho Aviation platform which, in its existing operations as Fly540, had turnover of US$57 million and carried 525,375 passengers in the 15 months to 31st December 2011. "

Correction t/o of $57mill - Although that will significantly increase -

For gawd sake - Don't talk about limits with BP - He might bite your head off.

Announcements as expected today - Overall they have the funding they need in place at 4p+ - Over 1.7bill shares in issue after easygroup get their 5% and 5% worth of options at 5.2p. Consider the short timeframe of those options as well -

The current market cap equates to roughly £70 mill - Revenues were in excess of $100 mill for Fly540 if my memory serves to correctly and they will make a loss for the year.

Everything in place for potentially an exciting future -

Now - Must dash!

Hi there, the 350k trade is an "OK" trade, which means an ordinary trade with delayed publication. So the actual trade occurred earlier. I don't think it is possible to infer any conclusions from this trade or your reported ability to sell "online" (meaning at YOUR broker) that there is a "buyer out there".

In any event, if anyone wanted to buy in size, they would have had the opportunity to do so at the recent placing. This is also why the share price typically temporarily slumps after a PP. All the buying interest is soaked up by the PP and new interest has to build up before the share price can move again. I am glad I got in at 4p at the PP and now we need to to see what happens. Clearly, the plans and vision are great, but execution now needs to follow.

Someone asked for recent financials for fly540. I am sure they are somewhere, but from the investor presentation I have seen it was clear that the reverse merger of Fly540 and Lonrho are not because of their operations but to utilise their licenses and landing rights. My understanding is that these two airlines are loss making and address a totally different market segment, namely business travellers, whereas FastJet will create a totally new, to date non-existing, market segment of low-cost air travel, similar to what EasyJet and Ryan created in Europe.

See the 350k buy after the close, could sell 750k online at 3.96p, there is a buyer out there.

Well, almost 4p, just a whisker below it. So that's great news and I hope the share price will go much higher, based on the future plans of the company.

"there is a large buyer in the market". How do you know that? Is this assertion based on your observation that at YOUR broker you see 3.85p for 750k? From THAT you conclude that there is a large buyer in the market?

I would prefer if we discussed the merits of the company rather than baseless short term speculation about the share price.

27howard, how is "Could sell 750k at 3.85p towards the close" giving you any indication whatsoever as to what the share price might do "next week"? Your statements are plain ridiculous and have no value whatsoever.

Can we discuss the actual merits of this company or are we going to have useless running commentary of what quantity is available for buying or selling at nameless retail brokers?

djalan, maybe maybe not. This one is hard to gauge. The present valuation is already fairly rich for what they have at the moment. Clearly there is some element of future expectations and success in the price. However, the excitement that this story might create is not to be underestimated.
