Andy RoadKing24 Sep 2021 7:31AMI think this worth reposting:Imagine being frightened, poor, cold and hungry. What happens in a once in every 25 year British winter with a 2ft blanket of snow covering the UK and much more snow in some areas from the Midlands up.What happens when the snowfall is followed by a 4 to 6 week weather system high over the UK and temperatures are averaging -3 degree during the day and -10 at night and no wind to speak of.What happens to all the electric ambulances, fire engines, snowploughs, lorries, trains, buses and cars  trying to operate under these conditions. How do we heat hospitals, schools, offices, factories, shops , warehouses, supermarkets and millions of homes with electric elements which are bigger versions of the elements you find in your kettle.Imagine the chaos and panic as everyone suffers from no heating and power blackouts and tens of thousands of people dying because of the cold, no food and no access to health care. All because of a new religion created by the Green Taliban aka Greta the goblin of doom and Extinction Rebellion and a bunch of clown politicians. The problem is we will  be taken down a dead end road doing immense damage to our wealth and freedoms (while we look at the rest of the world with their cheaper energy, warm homes, personal transport and lovely holidays in other countries) until we finally come to our senses. By which time the UK will resemble a cold wet version of Cuba. .... Daily Telegraph

"How realistic is a target share price of £30 in today’s eco climate?"

Completely unrealistic.

Sadly.

Barclays can have mine at 2800p is they're that confident :)

£30? - no chance in the current climate.
Similar to fast fashion and gambling - all getting bashed whatever the prospects.
Almost a crime to make a profit and exloit somebody else.

Royal Dutch Shell PLC said Wednesday that it has signed a 15-year power purchase agreement for electricity from Dogger Bank, the world's largest offshore wind farm.

The oil-and-gas major has secured a 20% power share from the third phase of Dogger Bank, or Dogger Bank C. Each phase has a capacity of 1.2 gigawatts, and is expected to generate around 6 terawatt-hours of electricity a year. The wind farm is located off the northeast coast of England.

Including existing agreements for Dogger Bank A and B, Shell has now secured 720 megawatts of the farm's anticipated capacity of 3.6 gigawatts. Construction is expected to complete in 2026.

Dogger Bank is owned by SSE PLC, Equinor ASA and ENI SpA.

SSE said Wednesday that it has signed separate power purchase agreements for Dogger Bank C. In addition to Shell's 20% share, Danske Commodities has agreed to buy 40% of the electricity generated on behalf of Equinor, SSE Energy Supply Ltd. will acquire 20% on behalf of SSE, and Centrica PLC will take the remaining 20%.

These deals are subject to the developers reaching a financial close for the third phase of Dogger Bank, which is expected by the end of the year.

Releasing stock piles from Strategic Reserves? I thought they were meant for disaster situations (such as disruption from hurricanes or pipeline downage) not to smooth price spikes due to unprecedented high demand.

Surely this will prolong high oil prices as suppliers will know they now have captive wealthy sovereign buyers who will need to refill their Strategic Reserves.

Perfect storm brewing for oil prices. At least $100pb is coming if not significantly higher in my view.

ALL IMO. DYOR.
