29/10/2021 15:56 | That's simply hyperbolic nonsense kklimber. Whilst I agree that there is very little man can do to affect the carbon cycle I simply don't buy into the hysterical propaganda that the earth is on the way to climate catastrophe. It's just not happening sorry. It's entirely a political fabrication that revolves around the "green" industrial complex and banks making shed loads of money. Same as the "pandemic" is about big pharma and banks making shed loads of money. Yet the irony is that the greatest support for both agendas come from those on the left who claim to despise capitalism. It's quite some staggeringly successful psyops that the elite globalists have managed to get such a degree of buyin from the left. | spawny100
29/10/2021 15:49 | Bad couple of days in share price following the Q3 results. I hope for much better and clear positive news in February. News on the $7B return to SH will be key, as well as making lots of profit when oil is > 80$. How can Shell be <£17 when oil is at 85 ? Quite amazing and could never have been predicted 2 yrs ago | tornado12
29/10/2021 15:46 | I forgot to mention there is absolutely nothing that can be done to change this outcome. It is as certain as Shell using the $7 billion for buy backs. | kkclimber56
29/10/2021 15:44 | The reality is that the human race is hell bent on self destruction and is well on target to achieve this in the next century if nothing happens. But something will happen. Actions of politicians industrialists, activists Nd royalists will not make one iota of difference. What will save the planet is nature. It will fight back and has ready started. There will be more natural disasters of every form and large parts of the world will become inhabitable. Millions will die and there will be much civil unrest. The global population will be reduced to something sustainable and life will continue.A bit like a factory reset on a mobile phone.Remember you read it here first. | kkclimber56
29/10/2021 14:24 | my plants,veggies and fruits doing very well | waldron
29/10/2021 14:18 | I understand for plants to thrive they require somewhere between 1,000 and 1,200 parts per million CO2, currently the planet stands somewhere around 415 part per million. If CO2 drops below 150 parts per million plants start to die and at 100 parts photosynthesis stops altogether leading to all plants around the world dying. Therefore currently the planet needs a higher concentration of CO2 in the atmosphere and not less. | loganair
29/10/2021 13:49 | The worlds temperature is mostly to do with things like the tilt of the Earth, the distance the Earth is from the sun, both of which go in many hundred's if not thousands of years cycles and how much energy the Sun is giving out at any particular time and very little to do with how much or how little CO2 there is in the atmosphere. I agree with Electric Cars as combustion engine driven cars give off so much SO2 & NOX contaminates, in other words pollutants that produce Smog. Gas gives off negligible amounts of SO2 and NOX, therefore there is very little wrong with gas generated power stations and gas boilers for central heating. | loganair

29/10/2021 12:27 | sarkasm 29 Oct '21 - 10:00 - 18913 of 18921 0 1 0 its all that smog and dirt since the industrial revolution together with population densities look to the future possibilities not the past it may never repeat itself Of course earthquakes and volcanic eruptions may change all Expect ever increasing extreme weather events in future years whether hot or cold tend to agree sarky | waldron
29/10/2021 12:23 | loganair 29 Oct '21 - 09:55 - 18910 of 18920 Over the past 100 million years CO2 has been much higher then it is today the temperature was 15C colder then today and conversely when CO2 was much lower then it is today the temperature was 6C warmer then it is today. Yeah... Because what the Earth was like 100/200 million years ago is really, really relevant to human civilisation today, no? So tell us about human society of 200 million years ago. Oh, wait... | pvb
29/10/2021 12:17 | Third Point didn't call for splitting off the fossil business or the renewables business. They actually suggested "multiple standalone companies" including an oil business and a "standalone LNG/Renewables/Marke returns with aggressive investment in renewables." So they see Lng in same unit as renewables. | husted

29/10/2021 11:29 | Climate changes.. Vine St in London anyone? Real problem is population growth especially in third world countries. Now, can anyone tell me what to buy to make more money please since planet saved? | xtomo
29/10/2021 10:22 | sar - Agreed, it's not the CO2 that's the problem, it is all the NOX & SO2 - the two contaminates that are the real threat to humanity and the rest of the animal kingdom. | loganair |
