Police in Argentina have spoken out following the tragic death of former One Direction star Liam Payne. Cops were called to the scene after reports of an "aggressive man".

Police have shed light on the tragic passing of Liam Payne in Argentina.

Argentine authorities were summoned to a Buenos Aires hotel prior to the One Direction singer's death following reports of an "aggressive man", they disclosed.

According to the police, hotel staff indicated that the individual "could be under influence of drugs and alcohol".

The 31 year old Payne was reportedly behaving in a disorderly manner and required escorting back to his room before he passed away, with hotel employees making a frantic call to the authorities.
