Gone XD today, 18.5p divi.
But the share price was not marked down by 18.5p, in slightly weaker markets.

I guess the discount to net assets is already too large at around 7%, RIT Capital look oversold. Comparable trusts Personal Assets, Ruffer and Capital Gearing all trade around 2% premium to net assets.

This is to hold for ever and not to trade, because just when you think to sell down it will bite you in the bum!

In 21 Profit of £879M, or per share 535.5p, tax charge £2.5M Bloody marvelous!

This is a profit equivalent of £71.6M/month or £16.5M/week!

If it makes something similar again in 22, it will leave everybody way behind!

Chartisit I met in a pub advised a quick sell?

Thanks Ollie for clarifying that - I am pleased with the Dec NAV and obviously Coupang is now a distant memory.

The tech hedge you made me aware of makes me hopeful that the Jan NAV will be better than i had expected (considering general market declines) and I probably should have increased my holding when my finger was hovering over the buy button at < 2400 on Mon.

One of the best funds of the year with a 23.6% increase to NAV 2794p.
The portfolio last reported a 7.2% short on the Nasdaq / Tech futures, so RCP should give a robust defensive performance in January.

Coupang now down 58% from it's highs @ $18.74. Heavy mounting loses and news of insider selling not helping. RCP's other high tech investments not doing much better.
I wonder if Jacob's been on the phone yet?

As RCP's investment in Coupang was via an investment vehicle, the accounts of the vehicle may take 2 or 3 months to update. So it may well be that RCP no longer holds any Coupang, but we will not know until the year end report comes out. Being the company's largest holding you would think the investment manager would keep investors updated in a major change.

RCP portfolio at half year to 30 June 2021 states holding of £382 million in Coupang.
Insider Monkey says RCP sold all its Coupang holding in the fist half of the year ending 30th June 2021.
They both can't be right.

RCP out of Coupang long ago. According to:

“Judging by the fact that Coupang, Inc. (NYSE:CPNG) has faced falling interest from hedge fund managers, it's easy to see that there exists a select few money managers who were dropping their full holdings in the second quarter. At the top of the heap, Jacob Rothschild's RIT Capital Partners dropped the biggest position of the 750 funds tracked by Insider Monkey, totaling about $620.5 million in stock. Sharlyn C. Heslam's fund, Stockbridge Partners, also sold off its stock, about $42.3 million worth. These moves are intriguing to say the least, as aggregate hedge fund interest dropped by 7 funds in the second quarter.“

A thorough, but slightly pessimistic article on Coupang (which, I believe, still comprises about 5% of the value of RCP?).

With the all country world index ACWI up 4.4% since 30th Sept, RIT Cap net assets for end of Oct could be nearer £28 than £27, as one of the best investment trusts this year, together with some hedging against markets that could be too high. £26 looks good value.

NAV virtually the same as the previous month (2737p) even though Coutang had fallen further. Now Coutang seems to have stabalised around the $27 mark..
