21/1/2021 13:09 | Hopefully a move over £21 a share shortly. Last month's NAV was at an all time high, end of December should be higher and end of Jan NAV higher again. | essentialinvestor
19/1/2021 17:21 | End of December NAV usually out first week in Feb, then a mid Feb update for the end of January NAV, with FY results in March. | essentialinvestor
15/1/2021 10:35 | Possible, however wider markets might need to be lower. I added under 2020 this AM and also bought for my other half fwiw. | essentialinvestor
15/1/2021 10:18 | Would be nice to get an entry below 20 (1980?) | kiwi2007
14/1/2021 20:27 | End of the year December NAV, not normally out until the first week of February, presumably due to independent valuation / auditing. | olliemagern
13/1/2021 16:57 | Added today, NAV update due about this week. Looking for another trip to over £21 a share, once wider markets remain strong. | essentialinvestor
07/1/2021 14:48 | Would estimate NAV around £22.25/35. Puts RIT on a 8% plus Discount. That looks attractive. People paying a 5% plus Premium 12 months ago. | essentialinvestor
21/12/2020 21:30 | Very unusual for RIT to buy its own shares. Presumably they see better value here than elsewhere? I find it hard to disagree. Hannah Rothschild sold, as she often does, to feed the cash into her charities. Edit .."..The Chairman, Sir James Leigh-Pemberton notes that the Board monitors the share pricecarefully and “will act, as we have done in the past, if we see opportunities to acquire the company’sshare to that (0.62%). ..." 14/12/2020 18:13 | "What's a digit!" Ha. In that case, could we have a zero on the end instead...? | dab26
14/12/2020 17:26 | Today, 2159p. What's a digit! 😊 | jonwig
14/12/2020 16:26 | Hi Jon, Is 3159 a typo perchance? Not trying to be argumentative, but it caught my attention to such an extent that I went to look for myself. Latest NAV I can find so far is from 31Oct20 and that was 2010p. A 50% increase in the six weeks since then would not be what I expect from this steady-as-she-goes outfit at all! Unfortunately... Very best, DB | dab26
14/12/2020 15:42 | NAV latest was 3159p - at least the share price is catching up! EDIT: 2159p. | jonwig
14/12/2020 15:24 | Surprised this collapsed so much with the rest in March in previous 'crisis' it's hung on well Normally seen as a more defensive /well run /absolute return type of trust Did sell some when it got to £19 but happy to hang on to the rest for diversification GLA | panshanger1
14/12/2020 14:30 | Still trading on a discount to NAV even after todays rise. Prior to Covid it was usual to for RIT to trade at a modest premium to NAV. | kiwi2007
14/12/2020 14:20 | Global tech founders back London-based start-up fund Dozens of founders and executives at global tech groups including Google’s Eric Schmidt, Ocado’s Tim Steiner and Zalando’s Robert Gentz have backed a fund to invest in start-ups in the UK, Europe and the US...... ......RIT Capital Partners is the fund’s anchor investor, marking its first backing for a European venture capital firm, it having previously invested in US funds including Sequoia, Benchmark, Thrive and Iconiq. Financial Times | kiwi2007
30/10/2020 18:17 | Launching buyback I hear Wish they'd done that in March | panshanger1
15/9/2020 22:05 | jimcar yes .well spoted, thanks | jaws6
15/9/2020 15:10 | Isn't it 1999? "The unaudited diluted net asset value of RIT Capital Partners plc as at 31 August 2020 (with debt at fair value) was 1,999p per GBP1 ordinary share (31 July 2020: 1,946p)." | jimcar
15/9/2020 09:48 | good discount to nav of 1999 , rns out EDITED, Thanks | jaws6
14/7/2020 11:51 | Also tipped in I/C last week I notice | panshanger1
14/7/2020 11:26 | Interesting article in the FT today. .... an increasing number of asset managers are raising funds in the hope of deploying a dual investment strategy. The first involves waiting for a correction to buy rock-solid companies trading at bargain prices. The second involves engaging in well-structured rescue financing, debt restructurings and collateralised lending as countries, and some bankrupt companies, seek to reorganise and recover. Liquidity-driven rallies are deceptively attractive and tend to result in excessive risk-taking. This time, retail investors are front and centre. But it is the next stage that we should already be thinking about. That requires much more careful scrutiny from investors than the past few months have demanded........ I suspect that RCT will be already preparing. | kiwi2007
02/6/2020 11:47 | Sold a few on that spike. | essentialinvestor
14/4/2020 16:44 | RNS of NAV due tomorrow? Should be interesting to see how well it's held up ! Around the 1800 mark perhaps? | kiwi2007
07/4/2020 12:16 | Think Hannah's gifting them to the charity....(Charitie She's OK is Hannah. | kiwi2007
07/4/2020 11:55 | Notice Hannah been gifted 400000 shares Some gift !Never happens to me | panshanger1 |
