quite a pounding so far and I thought iron ore price had risen recently ! Does not seem to have bottomed today yet but can turn on a sixpence!

yes, weak today as UK punters anticipating abouyt a 70cents fall for RIO in USA . Looking for a trading opp today but need a quicker trigger finger at times !

thanks libertine . I notice it is a delayed price but does it update by refreshing it ? I note taht at $32 which equates to about £24.43 . As RIO here trades at about 15p discount to US price , it shosw it is fairly up to date . thanks again .

jdb2005 - just a pity we csn not see the live futures price in USA but only the price in physical market after it opens at 2.30pm UK time . If trading RIO from that time it is unwise not to have the RIO in USA chart open .

25 still A tough nut to crack I have my short (hedge) in place at 25 .25stop at 26.25if stop is hit it will be great news for the longer term ppl and the wild be the first sight of breaking out

Interesting view that US market drives RIO prices.

I make use of the pivots to guage where to put buy & sell orders.
Seems to work most times but lots of traders are canny & try to hit stops so you need to be always alert to the action here.

as expected rio is going higher. the true test will be when it nears 26 if it can successfully breach . I will add to my longs till then I will look to short in the short. left an order for a short at 25.25let see if it works worked twice b4. stop loss at 26. 25

i did not say it made me money but it is something to be aware of or trading in the dark. it also helps to know the closing price of the ADRs in USA as gives an indication of level RIO might open at in UK next day . i did not trade RIO today as focused on something else on OAAT policy

Robrah- other way round and Uk follows USA price from about 1130am when futures opens .
Of course before that time , the UK punters try to anticipate what US might do on the day and it might appear that UK is lead market .

RIO is certainly a traders stock with swings during the day - problem is gauging entry & exits.

rio USA seem to be down nearly 2 % so I take it us is following the uk move. think may change in the evening after the fomc minutesbut so far US is following the London move.

of course one can look at RIO chart in UK in isolation but looking at the RIO chart in USA gives a better idea of what the future might hold . good luck with your strategy

either way 25 seems too much . this is the third knock back recently. as i said I would close my hedge it this went above 26 but till then I m holding for lower

but it is RIO in USA which is lead market Robrah even prior to physical market opening at 2.30pm as RIO in UK trades in line with RIO futures price from about 11.30am onwards .

well as previously mentioned 25 seem too strong a resistance. this is need to break well above 26 to change view. could do . but no strength indicated at the moment

whoops - now well down on RIO in USA close in a weak market today so far - needs a dow rally when physical opens !
