You'd like to throw that out there, Alex. ;) my only agreement was that it didn't seem voluntary.I think BM's position had become untenable. He may have done what was necessary to fight off the wolves. However, his interactions and statements to shareholders during his reign were imo misleading. Though during his time R1 was built. New blood to drive the company forward was needed.

... and therefore it is perfectly valid to ask why? Was it because the business performance has deteriorated? The reason given for the lack of a quarterly statement was feeble.

Spot on barky

If Alex spent a bit less time lurking in Starbucks in Bangkok he might understand this company a little better

Great coffee though Alex lol...and interesting company?

stocky,

Yes 1gw mentioned it on my thread...

Personally I don't think BM had much choice in the matter. At the AGM it was suggested by him I think that "they agreed last night" i.e. the transfer of power was formalised at a board meeting the night before the AGM and rns.

I'd be very surprised if BM was happy to go. More likely I would have thought (although it is clearly speculation) that the board, possibly with the input of the major shareholder, had in mind TH as the new CEO when they bought Perk, subject to watching him in action for a few months. I would guess BM was aware of the situation for some time and was allowed to stay on for his 5-year anniversary and will get a fairly generous package as a result of agreeing to a smooth handover.

I take the transfer at face value. A move from BM who has essentially completed the repositioning of the company to TH who will now focus on inorganic expansion. Horses for courses.

I have to agree with Alex on this one. Someone on these boards mentioned that BM was informed the night before the AGM. That doesn't sound that voluntary. Not sure how that works. However, he did a good job of building R1, but his misleading statements were annoying.

1gw - as I understand it the move now is away from header bidding to premium video led advertising which plays to 1R's strength. I suspect that all the features the company has built around being demonstrably cleaner than clean may well spring from an IDOL foundation.

Call me cynical but 'they would say that wouldn't they' in relation to IDOL. After all, if you have inherited a BAZOOKA it would not be prudent to remind the enemy of exactly what sits in your armoury.

Au contraire. Brian presided over one of the largest destruction of value in Ad Tech. In any other company he would have been sacked. In this company he gets a pay rise and a shed load of share options ... as a reward for failure.Look at Criterio. Comment from their guy is that they concentrate on their technology, not on buying traffic. They are growing, generating cash and making a profit. That would be my definition of success.

I doubt Alex works for ADVFN. Although it would explain why he logs in as Alex and defends Alex's post.
