The phrase "be careful" can be labelled at any investment of any asset, when it comes to exploration and mining stocks it is especially so. Not sure what your problem is with CB, but he has done very well for me. Also, I have never been in JLP but that stock has also rewarded shareholders. Something that say an RSG stock would be nice to replicate.

I don't count, no one acknowledges that every day is a school day more than me.All i said was be careful, yet you're the one jumping to assertions of losses, bitterness and arrogance. The well known internet phrase of DYOR springs to mind, good luck ;-P

Plat, please try not to be so arrogant thinking you know more than other people because you probably don't.

I bought almost 4m shares in XTR when they were below 1p, before they drilled Bushranger. The consequent share price appreciation changed my life, so CB has done just fine with me. I have also done well out of GLR. I am not in BZT or his other vehicle and don't intend to be.

If you knew what you were doing then you would have bought into ARG and KRPZ a few weeks ago, lol.

Why? Please explain.

Did you lose money during a period of depreciated metals prices and subsequently blame that on CB?

Thanks for the reply. I don't think there will be a quick resolution to this war so be careful with POLY, I was luckily enough to buy at 750 and sell at 800p the other day, then I got out and will stay out now. If you are looking for a good copper play take a look at XTR and GLR.

I will revisit HUM.

Morning again I did have Fres and Poly as my main holdings with RSG, GPM, HUM and SHG but with HUM so cheap I have built up a decent position there now as my largest holding.
Did own HOC for some time and did well from it looking to buy again I am waiting for a down day missed the last one.

Still holding Poly and bought a few more to average down in the hope that this Ukraine
invasion is settled in the near future.

Gold miners are crazy cheap at the moment this is madness with stagflation on the horizon.

Couldn't agree more! The Aussies actually have mines and a lot of experienced people and knowledgeable people work in the industry, the UK has just a handful of mines and Europe in general is anti-mining. I hope that Europe starts to re-think this terrible strategy, especially with what we are now seeing in Russia and China, and that we start to open more mines. I don't actually live in Europe:)) But dislike the anti-mining stance because we need mines for everything to build the green future.

May I ask, what other gold stocks do you like? Are you only in producers or do you like exploration plays, too?

I would actually like to focus more on pure silver mining stocks, but there really aren't any on the LSE, apart from HOC and FRES. Then you have companies like UFO and ADT1 and MILA.

Count what does help more in my book is the main listing is in Aus and they are much
Better at valuations of miners than the UK ,the aisc is a little higher than I would like but with the rising gold price it matters little.
Borrowing should be payed down when the cash is received for the deferred payments agreed in the recent sale of the two mines which will help reduce debt close to zero.

Luckily the hedge is only at around the 50% level and at a much higher price, quite a few goldies have got themselves into big trouble or even gone under due to poor hedging policies. Good that they have 50% upside on the price here, this is probably one reason why we are seeing a muted rise even though the gold price is moving forward as they don't have full exposure to these higher prices and the higher prices that are to come, in my opinion.

Seems to be under the radar, which is strange for such a large capped gold stock on AIM.

They do hedge to protect earnings to pay borrowings I suppose , if they had a crystal ball things would be different,But with staged payments to be received for sold mines think last payment to be collected is 2024 this will no longer be required in future years.

Yes Count this extended mine life will enhance value here along with the gold price which is partly hedged around $1800 for 168k ounces for 2022 around 50% of production.

At these prices I am wondering if a bid might come in this year, could propel a medium sized gold producer to a major producer.

It will move and run once the gold price starts really moving, I'm happy to wait. I remember over a decade ago when PoG when on it's run and the bombed out gold miners and explorers went up substantially. Happy to just sit tight and patiently wait.
