this helterskelter seems to be a trend. could it be that henderson who has both a short psoition and has been a significant shareholder holds the cards on the cycle of Redde share price over the last 12 months?
Just a thought.
If it follows prior trends it should recover fairly shortly.

Pull back quite normal, if slightly annoying.
As long as it holds its' rising trend of the last two years, which it still is, there's nowt to worry about IMO.

In fact, it's back to levels last seen in April 2011 before the price crashed.
Which reminds me... They're very coy about settlement of that outstanding case (Autologic, or something). Tho' no longer central to REDD's fundies/asset value, it would be nice to know what is still expected - if anything at all!

On the other hand, a break of 180p would mean question time, particularly for those in since the rights issue at 25p/share.

Henderson seem to have reduced their short to below the reportable threshold.

Around 180 seems to be near enough to an old support level. Rather an over-savage fall IMO, only partly prompted by the ex div. Hopefully, the only way is up now so I think I'll take a few more. GL holders, pete

Cross with myself as I should have sold some at 200 as it tried twice to break it and failed. 4.5p divi is nice but selling 15p above today price rather makes up for it.

Investors chronicle. Redde thriving as margin focus starts to pay off
From its indebted, tumultuous former life as Helphire, accident services provider Redde
(REDD) has come a long way. Three years ago a £60m fundraising round gave the company money for strategic investments, including developing a personal injury legal services business. And with more cars than ever on the road, the core business is flourishing: turnover was boosted by a 6 per cent increase in hire cases and vehicle repairs doubled compared with the same period last year
There has been an increased focus on higher-margin credit hires, where Redde provides the victim of a road accident with a replacement vehicle and repairs, recouping the money from the guilty party's insurer. These were up 9 per cent, compared with a 17 per cent reduction in the lower-margin direct hires. This also helped to increase operating margins in the accident management business from 7.1 per cent to 9.7 per cent.

The group benefited from £15m of revenue from claims management specialist FMG, which was acquired in October. Redde's legal services business NewLaw also agreed new partnerships in the period.

Analysts at N+1 Singer have upgraded their forecasts for full-year revenue and pre-tax profits. But due to the addition of non-cash deferred tax they continue to expect EPS of 9p for the year to June 2016, up from 7.9p in FY2015

IC VIEW:

Investor confidence has grown in recent months and left Redde's shares trading on a pricey 21 times forward earnings. But the growth prospects are good and the market is favourable, so there are reasons to be optimistic. There is also the strong dividend yield, though one eye should be kept on the earnings cover. Buy.

Last IC view: Buy, 159p, 4 Sep 2015

Jeff H REDDE has beaten the last 6 forecasts and with new contracts kicking in I will not be surprised to see 35 mill plus for full year with a 5p final divi

I see N+1 Singer have now upped their 2016 profits forecast from £27.55m to £33.37m but no corresponding increase in EPS with the current EPS forecast 9.00p.

Transpires that EPS hasn't risen due to a forecast increase in Deferred Taxation.

As I am long I get the divi and its paid immediately, same day.

If I was short I would have to pay the divi, same day.

In theory the price will adjust to reflect the XD although it may be more or less.....

Of course I may sell before Thursday.........

Melf - nice to be wrong for once. But it looks like profit taking is pulling down the peaks - once that is out the way I reckon £2.50 once we see the April TS. Good volume today.

I'm toying with the idea of taking a few more of these but with resistance levels likely around 200 and 210 it could possibly be a bit slow for a while so I'm not sure about the best timing. Perhaps it doesn't matter long term but it's always encouraging to see an early rise on a new bet.
