Reckon any new interest rate rises will marginally help their pension deficit etc...any further movement on that front should help the re-rating IMO...look what happened at COATS when they sorted their's....DYOR...

Trading update looks encouraging, with the exception of the hacking legacy; I had hoped prior provisions would have been enough but it appears the claimants' lawyers are adept at spotting heavy trains!

The market cap of Johnston Press is now only £3 million odd, so ,it may be that this one is also coming to a head soon, if so , presumably we will be, or are involved. Is this why the share price is weak ?

I'm expecting a Trading Update on 30th June (if last year is anything to go by) and I expect a lot more detail on what the way forward is will come out.

Management team now have everything they want - now need to execute.

There seem to be a lot of positives here for a share on a PER of 2:-

Synergies from Express group
Rising interest rates impact on pension fund
Increase in digital revenues

Time will tell but their cash flow give them a hell of a lot of leeway.

Was great to have a top-up opportunity on the departure of the FD.

I can't imagine how many people must have been closed out by the sharp drop if they had stop losses. Feel for them. Guess it can't be as bad as the guy who sold his 10% stake in Apple for 800$,Update in a couple of weeks.
Hopefully the hacking and merger enquiry will both be completed.
Well the mergers been waived through and not before time. Share price predictions any of you guys?

Vijay hasn't GIVEN them the 12 months. He's on a 12-month notice period and the company has (rightly) insisted on that.

This is a non-story. The share price is down, possibly as a result, so for anyone wanting to buy in, it's an obvious entry point.

Vijay is a very good man and someone of his quality is most important when the company is constantly making acquisitions and reorganising its operations. It is very pleasing that he has agreed to give them so much notice in order to find a suitable replacement.

I don't think that this was previously known.

It doesn't look like the kind of departure that necessarily presages bad news, but the sentence : "Vijay has a 12 month notice period and will remain in his position until a successor has been recruited to ensure an orderly handover." maybe suggests to me that he wanted to go earlier but they won't let him.

I still think the risk vs reward here is excellent so I'm still in, but I've reduced my position slightly on the back of this. It could cause some nervousness I think.

In fact both the CMA and Ofcomm submitted their reports to Sec of State on 31st May.

I had thought those reports would go into the public domain, but seemingly not.

Sec of state now needs to decide if this needs to go to a Phase 2 review - I'm not sure of the timescales for that however.

citycon, I cannot access the site you list. When I checked with the Ofcom site I can access it says that they provided a report to the Government on the 31st May. Is this what we have been waiting for and is the Government as usual stuffing around.
