Give it a while longer and Serbia will be walking back into the territory stolen from them.

You can bank on it.

In a War Office minute of 12 May 1919, Winston Churchill argued for the use of tear gas: "I do not understand this squeamishness about the use of gas."

lucky it wasnt the Jews he was talking about....wouldnt be such a hero today.

Wrong about that sunshine...

Winston was not always holed up in his bunker. He made many risky trips abroad during the war (e.g North Africa, USA, Middle East etc). You also have to consider his earlier actions in the context of the times. Not a perfect human being by any means but he saved your bacon in WW11. He was a very funny man with some hilarious quotes and I like funny people.

As for Russia - don't read too much into it.

As you will no doubt disagree, perhaps you will name your hero and I will consider sticking him or her up there. Or perhaps he is already there?

greatest speeches made hiding in a bunker from the man who killed thousands of kurds using mustard gas ....long before saddam was even born.

Russia puts Georgia in its rightful place?

more like a stern warning to the israelis behind the pipeline conflict...

call-logger

Can you post any info about that young handsome pilot at the top? Is he related to you in any way?

I am interested in ariel combat and was watching a programme about the Battle of Midway. Those American pilots were heroes, one of whom was responsible for destroying two Japanese Aircraft Carriers on his own.

Time to revive my old history thread I think.

Well, despite many problems this country has - it is still great. Where else in the world would you get a high court judge dressed up like that. I particularly like the wig, tights and the shoes.

We have some great traditions and institutions and have every right to be proud of
them. Therefore Eady can stay up there for now.

If you study that photo of Mr Justice Eady long enough, concentrating especially on the lips, don't you get a sense that he is not that far away from PHSL?

I know I do.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sir David Eady (born 24 March 1943), styled The Hon. Mr Justice Eady, is a High court judge in England and Wales. He has presided over many high profile libel cases and has come into considerable criticism from the press for his restrictive judgments and his judicial activism.

He was called to the bar in 1966 and became a Queen's Counsel in 1983, he is a member of the One Brick Court chambers.

He specialised in Media Law until he was appointed a High Court Judge, Queens Bench Division on 21st April 1997
