I think 888 will be back to 500p soon from 77p , revenue up 74% to 1.85 billion at 2022 . 888 revenues 3 times more than rnk but low mcap

Long term hold here - Rank has been a quality company in the past and will return to that status. Fundamentals looking better now and chart technically in a bit of an upward trend. Wont be a fast recovery, but a stable one.

Have 888 and added Rank. I'm expecting both to slowly recover so wouldn't want to say which one is going to be better than the other.

The economy is flush with printed money that has to end up being spent somewhere. With food prices and energy prices forecast to drop, I expect more leisure spend ahead, though with Rank I think it's the top end customers returning to the Casino's that are most important.

Hazel Boyle (CPO of Rank) has bought shares, again!

Forecasts (average of 3 brokers)
2023E: 682m revenue, net profit 9.93m (EPS 0.28p) - PE is meaningless as such a low profit forecast
2024E: 745m revenue, net profit 32.5m (EPS 5.14p) - PE 17.7

Revenue forecasts look good, but this will mostly be about recovery of margins and profitability (which has been crucified recently).

For a CPO to invest over 100k they must feel very positive. Validates that things are getting better here. (Means more than a CEO buying 100k worth). Medium to long term a good sign.

I have never liked Rank as a company, but happy to make a bob or two out of it. I bought at 79 mid December and have sold out today at 91.8 A welcome turn on a brief punt, especially in this weird market.

GLA to those in for the long haul, but for the present I think it pays to be swift of foot.

As of August 22, Rank had a net cash position of £19m, before lease liabilities. These lease liabilities are significant, having a present value of £182m. But it looks like the balance sheet could survive some stress.

I notice the discussions boards go quiet when a share price is in a constant long term decline and this one is no exception.

Is this Share price an all time low? How strong is the balance sheet here? I'm only asking as a point of discussion. The group is being squeezed between higher costs and lower spends. With the country facing higher interest rates and a spending squeeze (aside from essentials)it doesn't' go in Ranks favour. However the market looks ahead much further so I expect Rank to recover before the economy does and as long as it doesn't go into an irreversible decline before then. Any debt concerns in the balance sheet?

Rank Final Results in two days time. We know they are going to make around £40m operating profit, according to last trading update. Not sure what that will look like as pretax profits? More important will be any forward looking comments and especially about the Grosvenor Casino's and customers/tourists footfall.

CURY (LSE) looks very good... FY dividend 3.15p ( ex dividend dates 4th August) , launching 75 millions share buy back program, profit 186 millions, revenue over 10 billion... good solid company, switching some investment to CURY
