21/7/2024 18:55 | excellance 21 Jul '24 - 18:17 - 285411 of 285415 There are many imbalances in our economy, including the lack of children, a large number of economically inactive people, such as house wives Uh? They don't have a job then, so it's just a 'hobby'? ...or people over 50 or now 55 who no longer need to work to get by. So, if they don't need a job to get by, why is it a problem? The government want to get everyone enslaved again, force them to pay their way, so I fully expect the new government to tax pensions and abolish ISAs so the huge wealth built up over decades can be milked, and some of those people may have to go back to work to fill the gap. We shall see... I prefer reality to idle, pointless speculation. I know, I am old fashioned. ;-) | pvb
21/7/2024 18:44 | Umm, i think your all incorrect. Your assumptions are based on the world going forward, over the next 100 years, when, in fact it will go backwards in my view. We are, (and always have been), in an extremely volatile world, as an island, we can’t even feed ourselves. Life for most in the Uk has been excellent, (if you have had good health), with the government preventing you from starving. It was the Workhouse just over 100 years ago. For the world to advance stability is required and the standard of living needs to fall dramatically for the worlds population to survive longer term. Look back through history its laid bare for all to see. Gold will be top of the pile, just as it always has been. | sunshine today
21/7/2024 18:33 | Werner is talking out of his bum, when fiat starts to collapse their will be a scramble for gold and silver. An even bigger scramble. The central banks are using every trick they can to knopck the gold price so that they can buy more. 21/7/2024 18:25 | Former WEF 'Global Leader for Tomorrow', economist Prof. Richard Werner, describes how, according to his sources, CBDCs will ultimately be stored on small microchips implanted under the skin, and Universal Basic Income will be used to bribe people into accepting such a flagrant invasion of their freedom, privacy and bodily autonomy. | alligator2023
21/7/2024 18:23 | The EU is even more indebted than the UK, with most of it;s countries having higher debt to gdp than the UK. So rejoining the EU would make the UK even poorer. That,s with the exception of Germany, yet Germany now has many problems.Another case of socialism being a disaster?. | peterbarnes35

21/7/2024 17:57 | The standard of living for the average UK citizen, IMO, is far too high for the wealth which we've managed to create in recent times.. The fact that the Nationl Debt is the worst it's been in 60(?) years is somehow related to this. LOL. The collapse of the British Empire is concurrent with seeing US and Others taking over and wealth leaving the country directly or indrectly. Not that I would personally welcome being an inhabitant of the 51st State, but the only other option seems to be to rejoin the EU, warts and all. What a choice ! Let's hope the new regime can instil a sense of pride, purpose and togetherness for all our sakes. Otherwise it's curtains. | corrientes1
21/7/2024 17:39 | One of the major problems is housing. With 70m people living here demand for housing is higher than supply, so workers bid higher for a home, increase the term of the debt longer and longer, as they bid against their neighbours, effectively bidding longer servitude in slavery. The government promise to build 250,000 new homes, even threatening to build on green belts. They could back policies to reduce population growth, but that would cause property prices to fall, and cheaper homes means less debt, and a shorter period of servitude into debt slavery. It also means that mortgage backed securities held by banks become more risky and drop in value threatening the fractional reserve banking system. We have to break this cycle, rethink our economic model. | excellance
21/7/2024 17:09 | What we are witnessing is big state collapse, for the simple reason it does not work.If it did we would all now be speaking Russian, or Chinese. Like the laws of physics, if the laws *or rules of economics are not adhered to it collapses. | peterbarnes35
21/7/2024 17:03 | What matters is GDP per head .Shows extent of collapse but anyway we destroy the quality of life pushing for higher standard of living . Greed is destroying everything worth having | juju44

21/7/2024 16:50 | Eric Weinstein: "It's The Communism Stupid" Just as political correctness is. | peterbarnes35
21/7/2024 16:32 | Yup, democracy is a stupid idea because there is no burden of cost attached to votes, so we vote for the most benevolent mandate for us. However, those promises need funding, and we're already up to our necks in debt, so politicians can't deliver on promises, hence we all think they are liars. The reality is that democracy itself is a flawed idea, it's a luxury, a folly, and in the end has to fail as the debts pile higher and leaders run out of ideas on how to "grow the economy". Both Tory and Labour leaders bang on about "growing the economy", but why does it need to grow, why can't it just stay at the same size? Because if the economy doesn't grow then it collapses under a mountain of debt. How do we grow the economy? Three ways. 1. We all produce more. 2. We have more people each producing the same as before. 3. We invade or absorb another country. We've tried to be more productive with lean techniques, robotics, and by outsourcing less productive jobs, and failed. We encourage mass immigration by every and any method, from handing out 2m passports to HK Chinese to offering "homes to Ukrainians, and giving out homes, cash etc to illegal immigrants, and still we fail to grow the economy. We tried to absorb Ukraine into the EU, to increase the size of our market, but that too is failing. We destroy Russian gas infrastructure to ensure we buy gas from the yanks, sanction Iran and China to reduce their competitive advantage, and still we can't grow the economy. Maybe if we didn't borrow so much, promise so much free cash, spend so much on stupid wars, give so much away, maybe we could have an economy that does just fine without the need for growth? | excellance
21/7/2024 15:52 | In Politics or rather a 'Democracy'.. It is impossible ... to be 'Small State'.. Simply because .. there comes a time when most people work [ahem] .. for 'State' .. so wont vote for you. Ergo .. 'Super state' .. (Globalisation etc.) .. become the new 'norm' | k mon

So called right wing politics, believe in as little state as possible. So on this bases PVC wants an ever expanding state, lol. Like peterbarnes has the slightest clue what I "want" or think? Like he has ever asked? "Filtered". LOL. PS It,s why leftwing politics self destruct?. Thinks: Why is having a 100% ability to transmit combined with 0% ability to receive so characteristic of these right-wingers? | pvb
21/7/2024 12:19 | An extreme right winger would be someone who wants little or no state. So i must be an extreme right winger? Wokism being political correctness in another guise. And political correctness has it,s roots in Marxism7. | peterbarnes35
21/7/2024 12:08 | 'Wokism' like everything else in a period of 'peace' is cyclical, the change only occuring when a real crisis hits, when everything goes back to fundamental tribalism. Fundamentalism is naturally called right-wing, appealing to man's basic instincts. The problem for extreme right-wingers is the sheer size and variety of the opposition these days. Now where do we start ? LOL. | corrientes1
