exbroker: Re is this about coal, no it was all to do with falling out of the All Share index on June 15 that's why the price was under pressure and the volume so high around that date.

johnrxx99: A somewhat neglected palm oil producer and coal dealer. Feb 2012's trading update was positive and they are meeting goals in a consistant manner. They are trying to create a more Indonisian friendly corporate structure and they seem to be able to handle local disputes reasonably well. No doubt part of the unattractiveness of the company is the location thus it is trading on a per of under 7 with a peg of 0.27 and pays a small dividend. Palm oil has had bad press over the years but REA have many years of experience and are developing their acreage in an established palm oil area and also encourage artisan production which they mill.

topvest: Can someone explain the story re. the preference shares here please and the various capitalisation issues? I don't quite understand why the company issues preference shares to holders free to augment low returns from ordinary dividends due to lack of cash flow because of the extensive capex programme.

sammu: It looks like this is trading at quite a big discount to New Britain Palm Oil, and I was having a think as to why this would be... RE. No forward sales Smaller (less liquid?) Not as good green credentials Indonesian tax rises as CPO price rises Early stage Coal operations NBPO Some forward sales at lower than current prices Larger (More liquid?) Green credentials Better tax enviroment? Sugar I'm not sure which has the better planting/maturity profile. Any thoughts anyone?
