Received most of the final payment now, just can't check the small investment I have in my ii account.

I am really impressed with the way this has all been handled, it has taken time but can't say I am too surprised by that.

Given how fairly the shareholders have been treated I would like to see where the various directors of Pure Wafer have gone. Do any of you have any information on that?

Thanks Zimbt, you’re welcome. I also have an account with HL and am about to transfer my investments with ii to them. I don’t like ii’s quarterly fees.

Checked with Selftrade just now and cheque has been received and will be added to my account on 9th. They're a bit slower than HL who have already credited me !

I've kind of lost track of the payments but would the following be correct?

Total 189.855p

Seems higher than expected.

The liquidator has no incentive to progress things speedily, look at their hourly rate and consider the fact that they use in house tax advisers. Their interest is clearly served by taking as much time as possible and HMRC are playing into their hands.
I happened to play golf with a retired partner of a leading corporate accountancy firm a few weeks ago and I asked him why company closures take so long.
"Well it is one last squeeze of the lemon, it is not in anyones interest to rush".

Except the shareholder of course.

HMRC can be very slow finalising things. I remember taking a capital loss on one of my shares because it had gone bust two years earlier. I should not have dione so as it was only officially declared nil value two years later!

So were still expecting a further payment of 8p. However there still remains an outstanding Tax issue regarding Export/Import Tax. No time-frame on when this is expected to be resolved.
Our friends at HMRC don't seem to have been particularly helpful.

The liquidators have kindly sent me a PDF copy of their update, a letter to all shareholders dated 2nd March. It's too long and has too much detail to replicate here but if you wish to email me I'll forward it to you. My email address is [e-mail]

I was advised the liquidator would be writing with an update "on or before 6th March." My broker (Interactive Investor) hasn't notified me it has received anything. Has anyone else?

A liquidators statement of receipts and payments to Jan 6th has been filed on the companies house website.
It is not yet downloadable.
