Yes it is boom or bust if no farmout is cut on Druid!!!! Great confidence among the partners that this one represents a good bet. One punter said yesterday that a Schlumberger guy called it a 56% chance of success. Now that would be a surprise to me indeed.

Letter of intent points to intended 2017 drilling event

The letter of intent signals that Providence is looking to complete a well in the Irish offshore Porcupine basin in 2017. The well is expected to be completed at rock bottom pricing for drilling units. It has been signalled for some time, and the final contract looks to be near completion. Providence, with an 80% equity interest in the licence, would clearly like to reduce its interest level. However, low drilling costs give it considerable flexibility and the news today is intended to signal to a wider audience that the well will take place next year.

How can they disclose when they haven't signed a contract. They are almost certainly under NDA aswell until then.

However we all know who it will be.

Ask yourself a question. Would you have preferred them to not tell you that progression of a drill in 2017 is going nicely?

They cannot name the company until due diligence is complete and the contract signed.

I'm happy they have kept shareholders upto date.

I take it that you are referring in particular to the last paragraph (in italics),where Tony feels it is appropriate to give the company a pat on the back for its achievements! Not to even mention the fact that the name of the drilling contractor is not given. Typical opaque PVR investor communications.
