MADRID, July 17 - Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez on Wednesday announced a new plan worth 2.3 billion euros ($2.5 billion) to boost the country's transition to clean energy, including subsidies for green energy industries and hydrogen made from renewable power.The plan will also include measures to help agriculture, infrastructure and villages transition to green energy, Sanchez said in an address to the lower house.He did not provide more details of the new plan.Spain has positioned itself as a renewable energy leader in Europe, taking advantage of its abundant sunshine and strong winds to produce energy.With renewables breaking records, the country is now vying to be one of the major producers in the region of green hydrogen produced from renewable electricity.Earlier this month, Madrid approved a 794 million euro package of subsidies for large green hydrogen projects in the country with a potential overall electrolysis capacity of 652 megawatts.

A new Foro Sella Renewable Energy Observatory report shows that 46 renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 3,526.5 MW in Spain secured administrative authorizations in the second quarter of the year.Solar dominated this quarter with 3,155.8 MW authorized, while wind accounted for just 390.7 MW. Castilla y León led with 1,336.3 MW authorized, followed by Andalusia with 864.8 MW and Castilla-La Mancha with 391.3 MW. Nine regions did not receive any project authorizations.Authorized renewable capacity has reached 9,482 MW this year, with 7,109 MW from solar and 2,373 MW from wind.Only one positive environmental impact statement (EIA) was published in the second quarter, for a 19.3 MW solar project in the Valencian Community. In addition, seven projects totaling 717 MW received negative EIAs, affecting wind generation (398.6 MW) more than PV generation (318.5 MW).During the second quarter of 2024, 42 renewable energy projects with a total capacity of 4,864.5 MW entered the public information phase. Three-quarters of this power is for PV plants (3,649.7 MW), 22% for wind projects (1,070.8 MW), and 3% for hydroelectric energy (144 MW).

("Canadian Solar") (NASDAQ: CSIQ) and a global developer, owner, and operator of solar and energy storage assets, announced today that it has signed a 10-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with GKN Automotive, the global leader in drive systems. This agreement will allow for the annual production of approximately 200 GWh of renewable electricity and marks GKN Automotive's first renewable energy PPA in Europe.GKN Automotive will source renewable energy from Recurrent Energy's Rey I Project ("Rey I"), a 115 MWp solar PV project located in Seville, Andalucia, Spain. Currently under construction, Rey I is expected to be fully operational by the first half of 2026. Recurrent Energy will own and operate the project upon completion.The Rey I Project supports Spain's leadership in renewable energy, producing approximately 240 GWh of clean energy each year, enough to power over 73,000 homes in the region and displace approximately 197,000 metric tons of CO2 emissions.

The first transaction involves the purchase of three projects with a combined capacity of 157 MWp in the southern Spanish region of Andalucia. The plants are currently under construction and are expected to go live by the end of this year.Under the second deal, Capital Dynamic's subsidiary has taken possession of three more projects in the province of Aragon. The schemes have the required environmental and planning permits in place and are in the ready-for-construction phase. Their commissioning is scheduled for the second half of 2025.In addition to the acquisition, Capital Dynamics has signed pay-as-produced power purchase agreements (PPAs) for the PV parks' future output, which is estimated to be enough to supply more than 195,750 homes annually. The off-taker is an unnamed large corporate buyer."Spain continues to be a prime market for our investment strategy, and we expect to deploy substantial capital in the region," said Dario Bertagna, co-head of Capital Dynamics Clean Energy.

Excellent week here. Profit takers on Thursday, back to the 8 day ema, the value zone and a nice pin bar to finish, rejection of lower prices as the buyers came in. Debt free and throwing off cash with news to come. Could be a very profitable summer. This was 21p in feb 2023 and now the Company is far far stronger.
