Bid has ticked up to 23.5 suggesting to me that the seller got cleared with the large buy a couple of days ago?

Must have been some press focus over the weekend as 6 trades have gone through so far.

Well aware of PCF's position and goals Graham.I have built it up to my largest holding.Will need better visibility for confidence to return to this sector though.

Geraldus PCF has no exposure to PCPs ( it just does not offer them) and most of its lending is Prime. There is negligible subprime ( impairments were running at 0.5%). They have asset backing for all their loans. They have just raised extra capital and I think the CEO said they now have the capital required to support a £400m loan book.

Yes, sentiment is against the sector. I believe PCF will deliver the goods and as soon a investors focus on eps a few years out ( when the extra banking costs are easily covered) then this could rerate.

Banks back in the news over irresponsible lending, high consumer debt levels particularly with car loans,and talk of another financial melt down.Also the possibility of banks having to increase their capital base.Not the best backdrop for investment but great for a contrarian. - It could get rough but I shall be hanging in there. - GLA.

Clearly a large seller in the background holding the price back as they keep dropping shares into the market at roughly the same rate as the buyers suggesting they are not prepared to sell below 23.5 and are happy to be patient.

I am bemused as to why they would sell now given everything is coming together for this company and the company forecasts look fantastic. Everyone to their own I guess.

Can't quite convince myself to pull the trigger here. Liquidity doesn't help but feels like this could be a slightly long haul play at this level. That said will monitor the price.

Think this team executes well though

@topvest
"Eclectic" is a fitting adjective for UTL indeed.
I have held Utilico/UIL since the late 90s, held through the good times, held through the bad times and currently still holding through the "meh..." times. Holding UTL is becoming more of a cult by the day, still believing that the 40% discount will close.
Everybody likes to claim to invest in undervalued assets, but UTL actually does, PCF being a good example.

I'm happy to hold. Utilico are a better buy though in my view if you are interested in the eclectic parent. It will take years for this to come good, but good it will be at some point I believe.

I am a patient investor. This is the start of a transformational period in the companies history. I am pleased I am in before the wider market cottons on :)

I hold UIL Ltd, which holds Somers Ltd, which in turn holds PCF. This makes me quite the remote investor but always glad to read about good news.

I have a decent holding here already. Chart wise we are approaching the point it will need to decide if it is going to break north or south. I am clearly hoping for the former!

There were Placees who bought into the story at 25p not so long ago. I hope they will now top up at 25p and above as Scott and his team have delivered, and months ahead of schedule.
