Nothing to see IMO if you stand back and not look too closely

Morgank, what you suggested partially came to pass. Answers on a postcard as to what Friday was all about.

No news, no nothing as far as I can tell. Similar REITs trading just fine. Will buy heavily if no recovery on open.

If you are looking at ADVFN trades forget it. I have made lots of trades where buys have shown up as sells. It seems like each company uses different rules to determine if a trade is actually a buy or sell and where it can't distinguish put it in the column for mid price. I wouldn't rely on any trade volume figures on here. Unfortunately there does not appear to be anywhere you can actually get accurate buy and sell trades and volumes. I hope to be corrected on this.

Gbh2, I see that, but what does it really mean? (I do not really follow the minute to minute trades and what they imply).

Thx

300K buy disappeared from listing.

Edit: Seems it was redesignated as a mid price trade which dosen't show on the listing I was using.

Well, PHP was already in the FTSE All-Share index. Never mind.

Over 10m shares uncrossed at close yesterday thanks to the index funds. A more normal 183k today.

I'm not sure what it will mean for the share price. Possibly not that much.

I see MRO took the opportunity to 'kitchen sink' their GKN acquisition today, now that they've safely made it into the FTSE100!

Good call Typo, I bought in view of share price drop and the pending ftse250 move but didn't notice the bigger picture and realise it would be so soon.

Transfer to FTSE 250 and Award Win -

Primary Health Properties PLC (the "Company" or "PHP"), the UK's leading investor in modern primary healthcare facilities, is pleased to report that the Company's shares have been included in the FTSE 250 and FTSE All-Share indices, with effect from 24 April 2018...

Harry Hyman, Managing Director, commented:

"I'm delighted that PHP has been included in the FTSE 250 and FTSE All-Share indices and believe the move marks an important milestone in the Company's history. Having first listed the business in 1996, I'm immensely proud of the significant progress that the team has achieved. With a market capitalisation now over £800million and a 21-year track record of unbroken dividend growth, PHP has proven itself as a leading long-term investment opportunity and delivered significant returns to its shareholders...

Not exactly epo001, MRO is a FTSE250 company but it is is acquiring a FTSE100 company (GKP). This means MRO will be promoted to the FTSE100 (filling the gap left by GKP), with effect from start of trading tomorrow.

PHP will then fill the gap in the FTSE250 left by MRO.

When a company moves from one index to another, index funds have to adjust their weightings. To avoid mistracking, funds will often do this in the closing auction the day before (i.e. today). When a stock moves from the SmallCap to the FTSE250 the uncrossing volume can amount to about 1% of the company's market cap.

I'm not usually slow with these things but it seems a possibility to me, guess time will tell.

So, two ftse 100 firms are merging, creating a void in the 100 which must be filled from the 250 and php is expected to fill the resultant 250 void. Is that what you are saying?

Typo56, you appear to be confirming that PHP will enter the 250 tomorrow. But others claim that this is merely a prediction.

I believe the latter to be the case, and therefore wonder if you can explain the relevance of the uncrossing of the 7m shares in tonight's auction.

Thanks

PHP replaces MRO which moves into the FTSE100 on account of the GKN acquisition.

My guess about 7m shares might uncross in the closing auction today, but that could be complicated by recent share issue.

Yes I've seen that. It shows PHP as small cap and no changes due tomorrow. There are predictions, due to take effect June 18th and PHP may be eligible May 30th. I was curious why PHP was expected to be promoted tomorrow.

Why do you say that? The FTSE indexes were last revised on March 26th and the next revision is in June following a review at the end of May. PHP may have become eligible for promotion but that can't happen tomorrow.

PHP will be promoted into the FTSE250 from start of trading next Tuesday (24th April). Expect a big volume uncrossing in the closing auction on Monday as index funds adjust their holdings.
