01/12/2016 15:10 | It may be worth recalling history when it comes to OPEC cutting. In late Dec 2008 they agreed to cut 2.2 mil bbls per day. The price had been collapsing very precipitously to close to $45 pb. But by Jun 2009 (6 mts later) the price was $78 pb. While it's a smaller cut this time the markets underestimated what even sentiment changing would do for the price. IMO the shorting of oil stocks (especially highly geared ones) is much greater this time. The outcome/reversal could be interesting to say the least! JMHO | plunger2 | |
