Malcy on the good POO news

PMO is responding very well to the good news now the risk of POO cratering has receded. Survival all but nailed on.

Some of the blame must rest with the company for facilitating ambiguity. If Tony had come out and said "right, this is this and that is that. Bang bosh wallop" then there wouldn't be (as much of) the room for such strategy.

It's interesting to consider that the influence of newspapers such as The Telegraph reduce month by month as readerships steeply decline. It seems the finance section is one of the last bastions of sway. You don't win elections with newspaper headlines any more, but you might influence an share price for a few days!

I will spend time when the institutions are prepared to put out ambiguous news re the likes of unsold debt that never materialised, I don't disagree with the charts but they don't stop the sharks!

I wouldn't spend too much time analyzing this, just remember the support & resistance levels. Only positive news will break the 77p resistance or much improved action from the bulls, if they can keep this above 62p, then it's positive short term for more gains.

The reality is the MM's are operating a business and do the bidding of their biggest customers so they will be accommodating to the shorting houses and sell them back shares in lump sums when they want to exit.

Stinks but it is the way of the financial world.

What I don't understand is the MM relationship with shorters why leave a door open for them and not your faithful investor ramp this now and hard!

Further production cuts would do it.

Double bottom was 48.63p in early nov, started this move higher. I doubt you will see a break of 77p in the short term though.

OPEC has agreed to an historic production cut," analysts at AB Bernstein said. "The cut of 1.2 million barrels per day (bpd) was at the upper end of expectations (0.7-1.2 million bpd). An additional cut of 0.6 million bpd from non-OPEC countries could significantly add to what has been announced by OPEC." Benchmark Brent crude for February was down 10 cents at $51.74 a barrel by 0905 GMT. On Wednesday, the expired January Brent contract ended up $4.09 or 8.8 percent at $50.47.

The point is, in recent weeks the shorters havent been reacting to charts/TA, they have been 'creating' their own, by chucking money at PMO in an attempt to force the price lower.

Its only once a fundamental change occurs like a favourable finance structuring that their efforts will be blown out of the water, with no hope of a comeback

At the moment its moving in our favour, but if it goes quiet, and there is no good news on debt, they will be back

Bears will be watching this key level 62p, where the chart broke down previously, a close above this level, will give the bulls confidence to buy up to test 77p level.
