12/12/2008 14:36 | smartfocus, a portrait competitor have issued a profits warning today. Still no forecast from portrait's brokers and no contract wins for about 12 months. Is this headed for knackers yard at last? Does anyone care? | kruger2004

01/12/2008 18:02 | Hi Attilio. Thanks for that. Are you a holder? I bought three lots between 14p and 20p. Thought they looked cheap. What did I know. Regards Infocusint. | infocusint
01/12/2008 14:38 | Hi infocusint, I am not with Techinvest however I am with Pricision Guided Investments (P.G.I.) And Paul Hill said this 27/11/08 "Portrait Software Weak interims but hang in there On Tuesday and in line with previous guidance, Portrait Software reported weak first half numbers as the banking crisis hit its Q2'08 license sales. However this is not the time to bale-out. With a new CEO (Luke McKeever) set to take the reins in March 2009, and with "business activity returning to more normal levels", the future looks more promising. The key points from the announcement were: * Revenue increased by 9% to £6.9m due largely to the acquisition in March of Million Handshakes - which has now been successfully integrated. Reassuringly Portrait derived £4.1m (or 59% of sales) from recurring licenses and maintenance. * Following the H1 underlying operating loss of £1.1m, an "overhead costs reduction programme has been implemented to align costs to core activities", and as such I'd expect at least an underlying breakeven position to be achieved in H2. * In relation the outlook, the board are "cautiously optimistic" about H2 and beyond. Clearly it's a brutal time to be selling advanced marketing software to the beleaguered financial services industry. As such I have reduced my estimates for the next 2 years, which in turn has decreased the fair value from 14.3p to 10.2p per share. Nonetheless, as long as things do not deteriorate markedly say by forcing Portrait into a dilutive fund raising - then at current depressed levels, this is another stock to hold. It has £38m of unrelieved tax losses, a recurring £10m pa revenue stream and first rate technology even recognised as such by Gartner. To me if acquired by a trade buyer (which looks more probable by the day), then any take-out price would be well north of 10p/share. | attilio7
09/11/2008 13:34 | I agree. More than this one like that just now. Any monies received would be welcomed to pick out better bargains out there . | yangou
07/11/2008 16:32 | Good news, IMHO, would be a T/O from a far more dynamic company not in need of "Jam Tomorrow" stories. IMV they have the products but not the BALZ! | napoleon 14th
24/10/2008 12:00 | Yes I was just too late to sell out before that final drop. Put minimum price too high which was not according to the info here. So best to hold on tight now and perhaps one to add to if some good news flow comes in for these. | yangou
15/10/2008 16:07 | Let's hope that this is the bottom. A 41% drop at one stage was scary. | attilio7
14/10/2008 15:46 | Still a good company. Just need to wait a little longer for payout day. Tried to sell this morning but not accepting over 6p. Rather buy ARC. Still think it is undervalued though. But what does that have to do with anything in these markets? | yangou |
