spights,

I believe that to be to case also. But as I keep finding out AIM Stocks are a law unto themselves. Much like a wild west town of old.

Dear Kudzayi,
Thank you once again for your reply it is really appreciated.
No RNS has been released naming Stirling Enterprise and their holding
I found the name and holding on Polo Resources website
My understanding is that a RNS should have been released
Please can you look into this
Kind Regards
Maureen

888ICB: Your question is akin to "tell me what you haven't been told about".

However, the email from splights is an example - "...we were not advised to release a specific RNS. We did nevertheless updated (sic) the list of major shareholders on our website.".

Having their AGM in Singapore presents a problem for most UK shareholders and it seems to be the only opportunity for shareholders to contact the board as a number of Tang's investments make references to contracts and guarantees that lack sufficient detail to work out liabilities. These are the questions I would expect to be able to probe any CFO about but haven't been able with Polo.

Dear Maureen,

Thank you for your email. We worked closely with our Nomad on the transaction and during the share issuance, and the several RNS that we released were guided by them, and we were not advised to release a specific RNS. We did nevertheless updated the list of major shareholders on our website.
Kind regards,

Kudzayi

I have been invested in POL in the past and I was sharing my knowledge. As you will no doubt have discovered, Polo aren't very forthcoming about sharing information with their investors.

really? mine license rights arent normally transferable? ok
yawn - your not invested so why do you care?
good luck - my last post for a while until anything actually happens...

That would depend on whether GCM's rights were transferable. Which they normally aren't.

or POL could just buy it, IF GCM couldn't repay the 3 million and we own 30% already. then at GCM mcap of 10 million atm.. shouldn't be difficult...could also be ruthless and cripple it, if it were to need more cash, and end up with the asset even cheaper, happens all the time.

roomb: Problem with GCM being complete PIE in the sky, as you put it, is that it's more than just losing face. The board of GCM makes up the board of POL.

I suspect there is the feeling amongst investors that the board of POL would do whatever it takes to avoid GCM sinking. If I were an investor in either, and I'm not, I would be nervous that endless amounts of cash could be tipped down that hole.

Well the share price was underpinned by cash when it was 2p not that long ago. I think you need to be prepared to wait for some years with this.

roomb...its in it for free in my valuation as i'm valuing it at 0. like i said share price is underpinned by cash and BLK.
yes i do believe that unfounded news-piece did knock 0.5p off the share price but GCM quickly recovered, but POLO didn't regain. Market makers will and would knock POLO or any company down on any negative news, whether fact or fiction.
As for the loan, very good point, £3million exposure on that, so ill value GCM at -3million.
we also have many other investments and hopefully another of them proves profitable, certainly potential exists on a number of fronts.
does anyone know how regalis (ex signet) is doing these days?
I stay long due to NAV and potential of portfolio POL holds.

jennis2002

Jennis, I don't agree that GCM is "in for free". When GCM sank on apparently bad news recently POL went down about 0.5p, which was almost exactly what you would expect given the value of GCM to POL. If GCM goes bust then I expect POL to go down at least about 1p on the loss plus sentiment. OK, it's not worth much as a proportion of POL, but it is worth something and it's not "in for free".Also if GCM proves to be complete PIE in the sky, it won't be great for Mr Tang's rep, and also for sentiment on POL. Therefore GCM remains a risk to POL shareholders. Also there's the possibility that more POL cash will be used to keep GCM afloat ( it's surviving on a loan at present) . That could be money down the toilet.

Not sure why Polo has drifted down over the last month after being on a decent uptrend .
It closed at 6.5 on 5th of September and 5.5 yesterday. Volume has been fairly light over the month so maybe drifting down on lack of interest. This should be alot higher with its large discount to NAV. Perhaps we need some major news to get it back on the radar.

Ironstone stands to benefit from this global phenomenon, as its Clear Hills metallic and industrial mineral permits also contain relatively high concentrations of lithium within the underlying Devonian-age reservoirs, in addition to other performance minerals such as potash, boron, bromine and iodide.

Clear Hills Project Update

Ironstone Resources continues to advance its vertically-integrated Clear Hills DRI/Steel mini mill and electric metals project through the commercial demonstration pilot stage.
Some of our recent developments are highlighted below.

Building a Private-Public Partnership

Economic Diversification in Peace Region Supported by Government

The Clear Hills Project in NW Alberta represents a significant opportunity to make a substantial impact to the Peace region's economy through minerals development and value-added manufacturing.
This message was shared with, and supported by, many federal government departments including Natural Resources Canada (NRCan and Canmet), Innovation, Science & Economic Development, Western Economic Diversification, National Research Council (NSERC, SSHRC) and Sustainable Development Technology Canada (SDTC) among others in June during Ironstone's government liaison meetings in Ottawa.
The overall response to Ironstone's development plans was extremely positive, and the company was able to identify which departments and agencies would participate in a proposed private-public partnership, or P3, between the federal and provincial governments and Ironstone.
Ironstone in conjunction with GPRC (see below) will be meeting with representatives of the Alberta government in the next several months to further discussions around Alberta's participation in the proposed P3, with the intent of committing to building the Ironstone's Centre of Innovation and Demonstration Pilot Plant by Q2 2017.

GPRC and Ironstone Create Research and Training Alliance

MOU Signals Strong Future Collaboration
Grande Prairie Regional College (GPRC) is partnering with Ironstone to offer students more career choice and research opportunities in anticipation of the positive impact the Clear Hills Project will have on the Peace Region’s economy. GPRC and Ironstone formally signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on September 19, 2016 in Grande Prairie to collaborate on skills, trades and apprenticeship training in addition to performing joint research and innovative product development.
“Grande Prairie Regional College has an excellent reputation,” says Barry Caplan, CEO and President of Ironstone. “We want to ensure the community is aware of the opportunities with the Clear Hills Project and how to take advantage of those opportunities by working with GPRC on the research, training and apprenticeship possibilities.”;
Ironstone’s Clear Hills project is northwest of GPRC’s campus in Fairview. There are two development stages in this project, including building a demonstration pilot plant and innovation centre in late 2017 followed by beginning construction of the operational mine, steel mini mill and manufacturing centre starting in 2019, with a goal of being fully operational by 2021.
“This new industry partnership means more opportunity for our students and our region,” says Don Gnatiuk, CEO and President of GPRC. “IronstoneR17;s Clear Hills Project anticipates hiring upwards of 1,000 skilled professionals workers and we want to ensure our residents are a part of this opportunity with training from GPRC.”
Ironstone also anticipates working with GPRC on research opportunities, development and innovation initiatives. “GPRC is doing some awesome work with its Pollutants to Products technology,” says Caplan. “We are interested in working with GPRC Research & Innovation to address our greenhouse gas capture needs, as well as work with them to examine evaluate and develop commercial uses of the lithium and vanadium electric metals found at Clear Hills.” GPRC’s Pollutants to Products research includes the study of microalgae’s ability to reduce industrial greenhouse gases.
The Memorandum of Understanding outlines how GPRC and Ironstone will come together to create the training and research opportunities in the region. Program opportunities could be developed at GPRC’s campuses in Grande Prairie and Fairview.
GPRC is a comprehensive community institution, publicly supported to provide opportunities in post-secondary education in northwestern Alberta. Established in 1966 in Grande Prairie, GPRC now includes campuses in Fairview and Grande Prairie, and learning centres in Edson, Grande Cache, Hinton and Jasper. GPRC offers a wide variety of career certificates and diplomas, pre-employment and apprenticeship trades, university transfer studies, and several opportunities for on-campus degree completion at baccalaureate and master levels through collaborations with four-year universities. For more information, visit GPRC.

Representatives of GPRC and Ironstone attended the MOU signing ceremony, including (left to right): Bruce Rutley (Director, Research & Innovation, GPRC), Elvern Esau (Director, Ironstone),
Wayne Bell (Director, Ironstone), Darlene MacDonald (Director, Continuing Education, GPRC),
Barry Caplan (CEO, Ironstone), Don Gnatiuk (CEO, GPRC), Chris Laue (Dean and Principal, Fairview Campus, GPRC), Carmen Haakstad (VP, External Relations, GPRC)

Ironstone Poised to Become Leader
in Supplying Key Electric Metals

Vanadium and Lithium Demand Booming
Ironstone's Clear Hills Project contains a significant resource of vanadium pentoxide, an associated mineral within the iron ore. With a NI 43-101 compliant resource of 2.45 billion pounds, the Clear Hills represents one of the world's largest compliant resources of vanadium! Vanadium is not only an important steel alloying mineral, but in electrolyte form, is increasingly becoming a critical component of grid-scale storage batteries for wind and solar renewable energy projects.
Recently, a virtual gold-rush for another important electric metal – lithium – has taken hold across the globe. Relatively high concentrations of lithium are noted to be contained in petroleum reservoir formation waters or brines, including Devonian-age reservoirs in Alberta, and have the potential to address the increasing need to source lithium beyond what is produced from South American evaporative or "salar" ponds.
With demand for lithium ramping up dramatically for use in consumer electronics and electric car batteries, finding these new sources of lithium-bearing brines has brought Alberta into focus. Ironstone stands to benefit from this global phenomenon, as its Clear Hills metallic and industrial mineral permits also contain relatively high concentrations of lithium within the underlying Devonian-age reservoirs, in addition to other performance minerals such as potash, boron, bromine and iodide.
Ironstone is currently evaluating its lithium and performance mineral potential on its Clear Hills permits, with the intent of attracting strategic development partners to participate in developing these important and valuable commodities. The company expects to make further announcements later this year.

spights you've been here ages, as i have too.
have you averaged down somewhat? i know we've had allot back in dividends but i am awaiting allot better times...bought more today and a small amount at 2.99p. think average is 20p BE but obviously had a load back in dividends previously.
all the best... the share price is ridiculous, just waiting on something big, listed investments to deliver further. we might have to dispose of them for share price to increase.
thankfully BLK and cash are underpinning us.
ps. like hibiscus, and the GCM stakes a wildcard in for free...
