Increased my holding at 423p

Now let's see if they can maintain that dividend (currently 11% dividend yield) ...

Tech stocks had a good month in July with PCT up around 16% in July - POLR should see decent uplift in AUM since the last announcement at end of June.

Not too much in the way of performance fees to shout about for the year, although Polar Cap insurance- maybe 8mn gross in the outperformance for 2022 remains.

Average AuM for 2020/21 was 16.9bn earnings somewhere around 55p if no pick up from where we are? Big ask to retain the divi at 46p but even so, very good value.

It’s a high beta play on the markets but with big tilts in its favour (good resourced teams, big cash balance, performance fee potential). Looks like it’s worth adding to.

Stacks of companies that are at knockdown prices to buy, stick in the drawer and look at later when things recover.

If they maintain the dividend at 46p, which they claimed they can accommodate and absorb in the recent presentation, now yielding over 10%. That along with the mix of funds, demonstrable management agility and potential capital growth on top compelled me to add further today.

Added more today. Not expecting that 'fundamental valuation' of 800p anytime soon though.

AUM fell £3.17bn or 14% over Q1 of FY23, from £22.12bn on 31 Mar 22 to £18.95bn on 30 Jun 22. This fall was actually a little less than we had expected, given the very sharp falls in equity markets over the quarter: the MSCI ACWI fell 15.5%, and the Dow Jones Global Technology Index fell 23.4% (technology strategies made up 42% of Polar’s AUM on 31 Mar 22).

Outflows from Polar Capital’s technology funds slowed from £630m in Q422 to £380m. We would highlight this slowdown in outflows as a significant development, as in previous quarters investors were aggressively withdrawing funds in parallel with the large declines in technology stock values.

However, being so early in the financial year, we have left our full year FY23 forecasts unchanged, which we believe is a conservative stance as we do now see a higher probability that our forecasts may be exceeded (because of the slightly stronger than expected June AUM performance). We will re-visit these when Polar releases its Q2 AUM update in October.

Therefore, our fundamental valuation remains 800p per share

AUM down by almost 15% over Q1 and the shareprice has halved over the past 12 months.
Monitoring, but no position.

Gap filled up she goes. That's me for now, doesn't do to be greedy. Unlikely I will keep them all for the dividend, still expecting a fair rise next couple of days. Like you say though spawny circa 40p to play with on the other side and to be honest the way things are going, these guys will probably do a better job of looking after your cash than most.

Decent average finctastic and better than some of the Directors who have been buying lately! I've got a decent chunk at similar sort of price now. Hopefully will run up a bit this week otherwise will sink sub 5 exdiv. At which point i'll add some more if it sinks more than 32p.

Fully loaded at an average of 511 now. Though tempted to take another bite if what may become a gap at 513 is filled next couple of days. Sold out or stopped out elsewhere so would seem rude not to.

Goes XD on Thursday 7th this week. At 515p the yield is almost 9% @46p for the year.
