That is a massive 45% improvement fighting disease and yields of 16%

independent trials, carried out by PLANTEC, a major contract research organisation in Brazil, PHC279 significantly improved ASR control of foliar fungicide programmes, even in fields facing heavy disease pressure. Disease control was improved by up to 45% when PHC279 was applied as a seed treatment. In addition, yields of soybeans were increased by up to 16% when compared with foliar fungicide programs alone. These results provide increasing support for the acceptance of PHC279 as a compelling tool to combat ASR.

"If fungus resistance to carboxamide spreads across the country, Brazil soybeans may lose as much as 30% of their output," That's because there's no substitute for carboxamide available to farmers, according to Andre Savino, for Switzerland-based Syngenta.

And just in Brazil alone, 2.1 billion dollar

Brazil is the world's largest exporter of soybeans, with some 36 million hectares (89 million acres) planted in 2018. One of the challenges of producing soybeans in Brazil is ASR, which is a potentially devastating disease. Growers spent $2.1 billion in 2017 on soybean fungicides in Brazil.

Even with the last rns, phc has fantastic future

Highlights:

-     Plant Health Care has signed an agreement with Wilbur-Ellis, one of the largest U.S. agriculture distributors, for distribution of Harpin aß (Employ) in the U.S.

-     Wilbur-Ellis will market Employ into the specialty crops market, which is estimated to be over 7 million acres in the U.S.

Wilbur-Ellis, a recognized leader in precision agriculture technology and the marketing and distribution of plant protection, seed and nutritional products in the US market, has agreed to be the exclusive distributor for Employ, containing Plant Health Care's Harpin aß technology, for applications to specialty crops (fruits and vegetables) in the U.S. Specialty crops comprise more than 7 million acres in the U.S.

Harpin aß works by triggering the plant's own self defense systems, in a manner similar to vaccinations in humans. The plant responds with improved vigor, healthy growth, heightened defense response and, ultimately, increased yield. Being a biological product, Harpin aß has a very favorable human and environmental safety profile.

Employ provides benefits for the growers of fruits and vegetables through increased yield and quality.  Employ was recognized as Best New Biological Product at the Agrow Awards in November 2018. This new agreement with Wilbur-Ellis will substantially increase the number of growers introduced to the product.

Jesse Rosales, Wilbur-Ellis Branded Technologies Portfolio Manager commented:

"The addition of Employ to our branded offerings is a meaningful step forward to becoming a distribution market leader in the biological solutions space. We are very excited about growing this product in key specialty crops regions like Washington, Oregon, Michigan and the broader Northeastern U.S."

On AIM, Plant Health Careclosed 51% higher after the agriculture-focused biological products maker announced it will commercialise the PHC279 plant fungal treatment product in Brazil following successful trials. Plant Health Care conducted field trials on PHC279 to establish its effectiveness in dealing with asian soybean rust, a fungal disease that negatively impacts soybean yields in Brazil. Following application of the peptide treatment - derived from natural proteins - Plant Health Care reported a 16% increase in soybean yield even in areas facing "heavy disease pressure

Phc has the solution,

Brazil is the world's largest exporter of soybeans, with some 36 million hectares (89 million acres) planted in 2018. One of the challenges of producing soybeans in Brazil is ASR, which is a potentially devastating disease. Growers spent $2.1 billion in 2017 on soybean fungicides in Brazil.

Plant Health Care's PREtec peptides stimulate the plant to defend itself. Derived from natural proteins, these proprietary peptides are a novel, environmentally friendly approach to protecting crops and increasing yields, compatible with mainstream agricultural practice.

Problem is there is no shortage of soybeans

Indeed there is likely to be a glut for some years

Pigs that eat these are getting culled by the million in various countries

African Swine Fever is wiping them out, Rabobank thinks 200 Million pigs are going to be culled in China this year alone . I think more.

No figure attached to the RNS

Highlights:

- PHC279 significantly improved ASR control of foliar fungicide programmes, even in fields facing heavy disease pressure.

   -     Up to 16% increase of soybean yields when PHC279 was applied as a seed treatment.

- Up to 45% increase in the effectiveness of foliar fungicide treatments when seeds had been treated with PHC279.

- Plant Health Care is now moving to register and manufacture PHC279 for launch into soybeans in Brazil as a seed treatment for ASR control.
