20/4/2021 16:22 | I reckon a management buyout is imminent whilst its at these depressed valuation. | my retirement fund
20/4/2021 13:30 | Another 20K to his already large 360K holding for that one. I don't buy that these are token buys, this is longer term accumulation! | my retirement fund
19/4/2021 10:14 | Fear would be the war-torn state of Ethiopia, at the moment a vicious civil war in the north, one would hope it does not spread south, and the ominous prescence of fundamentalists throughout Africa, particularly the east coast. | bookbroker
19/4/2021 09:02 | MRF - many do so to provide a air of confidence and get small investors to stump up cash to keep them in the style they become accustomed too. Spend £10k on shares draw a fat salary and perks and pension and laugh all the way to the bank. | clocktower
16/4/2021 08:27 | Its a sign of confidence. Lets face it why would you spend money on your own shares if you thought otherwise | my retirement fund
16/4/2021 07:44 | Directors buying does not always suggest that it is wise to follow them, in fact there ability to provide small investors with returns is a better reflection of the companies health, and the best reason to invest or otherwise. In this case, they have repeatedly proven they are best suited at supporting jobs in Ethiopia. Maybe the directors would be best suited to running a charity, as investors money has supported them in better style than the 1000 they say the company supports in Ethiopia. Best they ship any stock still being warehoused there back to the Uk or another safe place. | clocktower
08/4/2021 18:19 | I was delighted by Mark Watson-Mitchell&rsqu If I have a reservation it is the investment in Ethiopia – providing employment to c. 1,000 individuals. This is a pessimistic view based upon the notion of trouble spreading from Tigray. Anyway, fingers crossed. We’ll see what happens. Since TNAV is so attractive in relation to the share price I bought 200,000 shares at 48p. Lloyds are owed c. £10m. But we’ll see this company bat out of difficulties caused by Covid. | gersemi
02/4/2021 00:10 | Bit like China and the USA then | my retirement fund
01/4/2021 23:42 | Gotta be careful of any PR, social media, and ESG worries. They have a factory in Ethiopia. The situation there is waiting to boil over into a full blown international condemnation. Worse case scenario war starts. Best case there's just some bad PR and calls on social media to boycott companies doing business there. | boonkoh
01/4/2021 12:54 | It's not the employees that are the problem, it is the BoD that need the boot, as they are the ones responsible for investors headaches hybrasil. I have fortunately been able to trade this over many years for a small profit but have always seen the potential if only it was managed in the interest of all stakeholders. | clocktower
24/3/2021 10:32 | Imagine a business with over 1000 employees. I could think of nothing worse. What a headache and to be worth nothing at the end of it! I have been a shareholder for about 20 years. It hasn't exactly been my best investment | hybrasil
24/3/2021 10:12 | I put them in feathering their own nest camp, not stupid but it is a shame to see a company like this being so poorly run for such a long period of time. | clocktower
24/3/2021 09:22 | If they really have none shifting inventory out of that stock, they would have written it down accordingly to pay no tax, but they didn't so either it is shifting just fine or they are stupid. I guess you put them in the stupid camp? | my retirement fund
24/3/2021 09:05 | The company is not shy with numbers, but on order book purposely coy. Why no absolute or comparison figures to back up claim it is stronger? Maybe it's only up by like 2% on 2020 or 2019!! Who knows.Despite all the talk of new products, lower costs, etc. No strong statement around margins or profitability this FY. Leaves me thinking that H1 will probably repeat same performance as H2, barely breakeven or even a small loss. Blamed on covid of course. And then maybe a small revenue growth in H2 and maybe a small profit.NTAV is strong but much of it is inventory. Which we know isn't shifting. How much of that £15m is old stock or low quality stock they refuse to shift? They shifted some of the low quality leather in 2020 but how much more is there in that inventory? | boonkoh
24/3/2021 07:11 | I expected better numbers today, it seems nothing has changed other than a reduction in the inventory which hides some of the losses. Seems to me it’s time JR booted boneheads off the board, and took full control. | clocktower
22/3/2021 17:43 | This seems to one of John Rendells biggest investments: | clocktower
12/3/2021 13:23 | Agreed its dirt cheap and ripe for being taken out | my retirement fund
12/3/2021 13:20 | Let's hope so..it's run like a family company. Jobs for life despite p poor performance. | meijiman
12/3/2021 12:50 | Before long we might see a offer for the company bearing in mind the very substantial holding that John Rendell now has in the company. | clocktower
26/2/2021 13:39 | Interesting trades today.Volumes not seen for while. | clocktower
10/2/2021 16:41 | Nice and steady but a solid start today. | clocktower
10/2/2021 09:01 | Will hopefully be pushing 70p by the end of March with more to come. | my retirement fund
10/2/2021 08:32 | See my earlier post.I genuinely see this as of interest to a larger entity. There has been the odd approach in the past but nothing came of it.We shall see.Meantime I see it as a great recovery prospect. As always DYOR | oldtimer169
10/2/2021 07:55 | Not so lame as some had predicted, with the stocks being used to good effect at long last. Hopefully a few will show more interest in the stock now. | clocktower |
