24/6/2024 09:12 | Thanks for those articles, Rose. Looks like CDK Global will have 15,000 very disgruntled customers potentially looking for an alternative software provider. Interestingly, CDK Global were bought for $6.4 billion in 2022, meanwhile PINE's cap is a mere £325 million. Just a fraction of CDK's customers jumping ship would turbocharge the PINE share price | theapiarist
23/6/2024 11:31 | "Hackers that crippled car dealerships demand tens of millions in ransom" "The group responsible for hacking the system of CDK Global has demanded tens of millions of dollars in ransom as the June 19 attack on the company’s systems continues." "CDK Global is planning to make the payment, according to Bloomberg." | rose_by_another_name

21/6/2024 23:51 | "Car dealerships forced to process orders by hand after cyberattacks shut down computer system" "Car dealers in the US and Canada were having difficulty fulfilling orders due to the disruption in the software that is used to manage their business and workflow." "CDK Global, the IT firm based in the Chicago area whose software was hacked, said it could be a few more days until it can get its systems back up and running." "The 15,000-plus dealerships that rely on CDK systems to process transactions, access customer records, handle repairs and schedule appointments were left to fend for themselves." | rose_by_another_name
19/6/2024 08:35 | Interesting article - Pinewood payday for CEO. Not bad for running a smaller company after selling the car dealerships. It will be interesting if the institutions have picked this up and whether they will back it. https://cardealermag | c_k
17/6/2024 09:31 | Further institutional buying from across the pond. Newtyn Management scoop up 8.87% and Morgan Stanley increase their holding. | theapiarist

04/6/2024 12:40 | Thanks for that, Carla. I hadn't appreciated that there was such a difference between our two markets. I certainly agree with you that the US could be a game changer, particularly with the Lithia "captive dealerships" and the higher ratings that US tech stocks enjoy compared to UK. This small-fry is happy to hold for 2025 and beyond. | theapiarist
04/6/2024 10:42 | Hi Aplarist - there is no US product at the moment, Uk & US dealers work in very different ways, so the plan is to develop a US DMS product over 2024 and then look to start implementing in 2025 in the Lithia dealer network, that should open up other opportunities in the US once they have proved the new product. As Lithia have a significant holding in the JV they will naturally push all their dealers into the product which is essentially guaranteed value upside for the Pinewood share price. It looks like institutional investors are now starting to wake up the the potential upside, which is good news for us small-fry! | carla2507
04/6/2024 08:00 | Lithia have a front seat view of how the product is being received by the US motor trade. The fact that they are increasing their holding is a nice vote of confidence. | theapiarist

01/6/2024 08:44 | Thanks Waldron. I think an intelligent change, plus Lithia and America? Maiden profit £10M, rather rare. Appreciate only 3 brokers cover, but super green, that's rare also. In at 346. Appreciate, as you say, difficult to determine the future, but the tech looks sound to me and I'm encouraged by the innovation. We shall see. | dudishes
