Does anyone understand whether the details in the Guardian article mentioned above, are likely to have any knock on implications for PFC ?

Hi Gary, looks good - and nice divi if we have to hang around! Been doing well in SCPA (yet again!) and just had another dabble in CARD too. Missed the boat with HGM recently, but you can't win 'em all!! Trust you're doing well?

Dont feed the trolls there is a filter button ladies and gentlemen.

So clearly the market was hoping for better results than promised in this fertile environment the company is not going to go bust as far as I can see so it will recover.

To cheer you up here below is a link to a report of the chances of a $5 to $10 oil spike. You may consider this bull porn but the conservative price spike suggested makes me think the person quoted was being sensible rather than sensational.

hxxps://oilprice.com/Geopolitics/Middle-East/Expert-Chances-Of-US-Iran-War-Are-At-Least-50.html
There’s at least a 50-percent chance that the rising tension between the United States and Iran could escalate into a conflict that would disrupt supplies, Fereidun Fesharaki, a former energy advisor in Iran in the 1970s and now chairman at consultancy Facts Global Energy, told CNBC.....
The U.S. had apparently prepared a response to the downed drone with strikes on Iranian targets, before U.S. President Donald Trump stopped a planned strike 10 minutes before it begins, because, he said, it was “not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone.”

Had President Trump gone ahead with those strikes, oil prices would have jumped by $5 to $10 a barrel because of the geopolitical risk premium, Fesharaki told CNBC....

Now looks like a disaster FRAUD PROBE CONTINUES.... £3 or less my target price

Oil and gas firm Petrofac today said new orders had slowed because a fraud probe scared off some customers.
New order intake at the FTSE 250 business which builds oil rigs and provides support services was $1.7 billion (£1.3 billion) for the six months ending June, down from $1.8 billion a year earlier.

lol halfpenny, it is not corruption they are in trouble for, it is a back handers to the guys giving out these huge contracts. A culture that is endemic to the middle east.

PFC will get their knuckles wrapped but no one else (especially the customers care)

Wow may get solid growth on potential market. If news flows on potential market gains then may move up rapidly.

£4.50 very likely and may be soon.

PFC are restructuring so thats positive news with costs improved.

topped up too. This is great value IMO. Divi's likely to be good going forward, and the SFO relief rally has to come at some point. The dark cloud has been hanging over pfc for too long

If and when the SFO investigation is out and in order, the blacklisting by saudi and irak will be lifted. Otherwise this could weigh on the share price for a while as the numbers showed.

Agree OXMAN - However, I think the market anticipates a possible middle east disturbance (Iran instability that can disturb the neighbourhood) which could affect business activity. Also divestment (on-going) of some businesses is not well understood. How this will affect future numbers ? So all these uncertainties may put a break to any share price recovery. Unless positive SFO news arrives and more contracts signed. I still believe PFC is a long term hold in any portfolio.

Not exactly an overly positive update, was hoping for better. Still concerned about the Iraq issue over trust which could affect future business, with knock on elsewhere. Can see this back below £4 again before any pick up but certainly until the SFO case is resolved, one way or the other.

Hit a bit hard today for an in-line statement and with plenty of bidding activity kind of think this should be closer to 500p.
