I understood it to say that he expected to get off because he had not been served notice of the charges and so did not have the opportunity to defend himself. It also said that the insider had been successful in challenging and overturning the fine last year so logically the same should apply to Asfari. Perhaps he needs a better lawyer.

Not sure people put too much faith in the Italian court system. Saw the same article- it did seem to point out that others had questioned the decision in Italy

Article in The Times today headed "Petrofac boss loses legal case in Italy" says Asfari has lost his appeal against an insider trading fine imposed by Italy's financial regulator and now plans to appeal to a higher court.

You could be right. Ended up selling just under half and buying a bit of some smaller holdings in things I wanted to average down with to balance up my ISA and SIPP - things are so up and down still in the markets in general just trying to bank a few profits from time to time.

I will add if the share price stays above 445p at the close over the coming days, so far it has. Meanwhile bought a chunk of AV. & TCG instead, nothing else, just holding many in an improving portfolio.
