14/2/2011 15:13 | Spend too, as 25% of spend is returnable to Petro once declared, gives ace card to drill. Egypts unrest and Algeria and Middle East won't stop drilling it opens up more need for it to keep the natives aoot by spreading the dosh. Too many multi nationals here to worry about politics. That testing must be done by now. | expatinthedesert

14/2/2011 15:04 | But surely Sonatrach - who we are waiting for are important. (Excuse my naivity). But will the recent unrest mentioned in the news this weekend not have any bearing on any dealmaking? I understand what you are saying though, its very been a picnic. | bones30
14/2/2011 15:02 | A picnic compared to some places. Algeria's hardly been a quiet zone has it, not in 30 years. We hope that they do introduce more reforms, as it might stop developments being held up by the guvnors and the envelopes, and give us a lot more work in Algeria with more lucrative deals for drilling. We've not lost one day of drilling in Algeria for donkeys years and some of you who have been working out here will know that. You've more chance being held up here by desertification of kit than anything else. | expatinthedesert
