One million shares traded shown as sells yet the price ticks up. Thats takes some explanation?

There is something stirring on the JSE, since 07/07/09 until today's closing prices 11,517,314 shares (sharenet.co.za) have changed hands and hardly any share price movement. This is quite extraordinary for a share that hardly ever trades and if it does only in the thousands. Has news leaked about the new additions to the PTMN mining portfolio?

Fantastic announcement - what's the reverse of a profits warning? ;-) I'd be up to my neck in these if it wasn't for the silly spread - but I'm trying to get some more today at 16p just in case!

Could anyone hazard a guess or have knowledge why so many sales have taken place, since 23/06/09 nearly 350,000 sales. The only good news it would seem is that it has not affected the share price of this very tightly held share. So there must be good news on the horizon, I hope.

A mistake in the heading or are they attempting to buy out another company and require cash to close the deal.

Edit : Just took this from a media release of 3 March 2009

"Petmin was looking at assets in bulk commodities or industrial minerals. Doig said it could issue shares to help fund any acquisition"

kayaks, i think the JSE/LSE prices are pretty much inline with each other.

Could anyone hazard a guess why the price is falling on the JSE but rising on the LSE, I thought that prices were in sync.

Quite right bushtuckaman, all aboard. I bought in at 12p so not much can go wrong, can it? I bought some shares in a company South China Resources who were in Tibet, they have since moved to South Africa and changed their name to Universal Coal (UCL) who was subsequently delisted from AIM, however on the UCL website they talk about negotiating with a major coal trading company. Could this be them? Have a look at the UCL website they have some good mining assets. Although I believe that UCL director's are more misleading that Lewis Hamilton's statement to the FIA stewards.

They like the trading statement. I read it before I went out this morning and was undecided as to how the market would re-act because it contained both good and bad items as I understood it. Just returned to see blue.

Hi All, A 28,000 sale today, why on earth anyone would sell unless they are desperate. The company is very profitable, stock not being shorted and according to the latest financial report the management have bought back a few milion shares over the last financial year and is probably still doing it. Suggested by the fact that the first sale went at 11.5 but the second at 12. Just keep the faith guys. Regards

Drat I misquoted The Bard, thanks for pointing out my error. We did Julius Caesar at school as part of our English Lit. I got the role of Cassius. Plus The headmistress took us to see it live at the Old Vic in London. A class day out akin to "Please Sir" or "To Sir with Love". Wonderful Play but we were unruly teenager's let out of the cage(classroom)

I have dropped a line to The Company asking if they can supply a date when the 2008 Annual Review will be published.

The 2007 document came out on 22 October last year so they are almost 2 months later this year
