A forced seller of 50,000 shares and the Market reacts by saying you can sell but at a puny price. Far better to wait for healthier times which will surely arrive

And significant increases in both silica, and coal resreves to be announced by end 2008.

With more than R200million (£14million plus) in the bank, two profitable mines and access to its own dry bulk coal terminal at Richards Bay through wholly owned subsidiary Petmin Logistics for the export of a minimum of 600,000 tons of coal per year. Something which CZA had to get into bed with Grindrod to achieve. I personally believe that at this price these shares are an amazing buying opportunity. Of course as always DYOR.

Lobby Ludd,

A good call on your part Springlake. Still stumped on why they are bashing the share price so heavily. The results looked fine to myself. I will never master the rules of investment.

It is overcast here but dry. Yes The Lake District is very pretty and perhaps a little more accessible at this time of the year.

Larger fall than any stock on even the Main market - surely value here.

hosede,

I agree with them being a firm "buy". It appears a well run company. I am disappointed by the fall in the share price over the last month and wonder how much of the fall is down to general worldwide situation?. How much is down to the mining sector and how much is The Company itself?

I think I have solved the problem. ADVFN are showing Net Assets per share at 188p, that should be Rand. When converted we come up with around 12p

Something is out of kilter here. The share price is dropping. They have published very good year end figures. Our Net Assets per share are 188p, yet the share price is 23p.

Does anyone have an explanation?

Interesting paragraph near the end. I wonder if they are sniffing over the Veremo assets re cautionary announcment.

"The company plans to spend $850.5 million to buy an iron-ore mine and port in Brazil to boost supply of the material. This month, ArcelorMittal paid $432.5 million for half of a venture with Kalagadi Manganese to develop a mine in South Africa producing the metal, which is used to harden steel."

Strange lack of any detailed comment on the Springlake Collierty operation eg. no production figs, unlike for the other two operations.

Results look pretty good - but seems zero interest in small miners now - at least its not plumetting like SRB that I got out of at 17.5p or LRL thats not much better

Yes That would tally with the JSE chart in the header. so 70 cents = 4.9p approx and 15 cents = 1.06p.

Sorry to be so ignorant, but are they quoting US cents or something else (e.g. 1/100th Rands)

No very good reason - just that miners were in a downturn - but that doesn't really apply to coal - I think he just got bored with the continuing "precautionary" announcements

Strong performance today in a dire market. Particularly considering how many coal stocks taken a clobbering of recent. Is good new imminent I wonder.

Last RNS said full-year results would be out by 30th Sept (18th last year).
Given the prices coal has been achieving, results should be cracking, as were those for UK Coal yesterday.
Up 8% in London, down 3% in J'burg at mo ?

Full year results to the end of June may well be released next month. Before the last interim results there was a trading update. If there is one this time, it could be any day now. I suspect that the recent price rise is in anticipation of good results....possibly also in connection with a good acquisition which we have long been awaiting.

What reason did rhps give for selling?

There's obviously a buyer behind the scenes.
