02/11/2010 14:12 | luckyjonah - I concur. PGL now capped at a lowly 38m GBP. Following Admission of the Placing Shares, the Company's issued share capital will be 77,461,550 ordinary shares of no par value. | jonny flame
02/11/2010 12:57 | kickstart, I think your timing will be fine... I don't understand why the price is so depressed given the outlook. I guess people won't believe until the results show the cash rolling in. | luckyjonah
01/11/2010 18:28 | oops! bad timing on my part. | kickstart
29/10/2010 17:44 | I got back into PGL today( I BOUGHT THE 10k). Still very undervalued IMOP. It looks like they are forming a nice base at this level---lets hope its to head North from ! | kickstart
25/10/2010 17:38 | OT jonny: thanks for feedback on CRND. Imo you have a refreshingly straight forward strategy of backing potential winners: although not averse to winners myself I have a tendency also to be attracted to 'dogs that might bark again with a bit of luck'. I'll have another think about this one. Plenty of potential winners around atm! | engelo
25/10/2010 14:58 | engelo - sorry my laptop has broken, which is the cause of the delay. In regards CRND, not for me, not so impressed with that company and correct me if I am wrong but they are targeting 45,000oz prod by 2013, well hopefully PGL will be a 100,000oz producer by then. IMHO. | jonny flame
21/10/2010 18:48 | jonny: OT well done on SNRP! I had a small amount of these, planning to get more but whoosh! Talking about being in stuff at the bottom, and staying in SA, would you pl tell me whether you have had a slide rule over CRND? I have bought some: both the risks and the rewards are unusual. Could itemise my thoughts to save you time if you are interested. | engelo
21/10/2010 09:43 | Picked up a few more this morning. | jonny flame
20/10/2010 09:23 | A tick up. OT/engelo - be interesting to see where SOLG goes from here, we may yet see sub 30p, now that the RNS on the Aus projects has been released. | jonny flame
18/10/2010 14:07 | OT engelo, yeah I was prepared to buy SOLG at the low 30's and high 20's but it never got there! SOLG is just so volatile it's extremely hard to predict which is why I'd rather be in stuff at the bottom. On that note I picked up a few PPA, which is worth a look and SNRP & AGTA are finally starting to move. DYOR and all that. One day PGL will get recognised (: | jonny flame
18/10/2010 10:35 | jonny: OT apologies for lateness but many thanks for your reasoned response to my SOLG query. As of this moment it seems that my temptation to get back in in the 30s and yours in the 20s have been sabotaged by dr drill, as you put it! Will be interesting to see if the share price falls back from the current 42. Also very glad that you're going to be able to tell us all when the bubble is mature! tia engelo ;)) | engelo
14/10/2010 08:32 | Picked up 5,000 shares @ 54p. | jonny flame
13/10/2010 17:47 | Hey Engelo, 1) thanks, glad to hear that you did well. I bought in fairly big at the 8-11p range, and sold too early in the mid 20's had I held and sold in the 50-60p range I would have made a very significant sum. 2) yes, I read that, 'dr drill' will reveal the true story 3) I kind of agree, but the AUS story alone is not worth the current valuation 4) my thoughts, and that's all they are, can't give you financial advise. My view is that if news on the Aus projects comes out the share price will rise on any good news and then may rapidly fall back. Looking at the graph I actually wouldn't be surprised to see a low 30p or even a share price in the 20's (that's when I am looking to get back in), the drill news on Fauro is the big news but this is still some way off. I'm wary that it might fall back further (look at TPJ - which I bought and sold today) for example. Obviously no one can tell you which way a stock will move, if they could they would be living on an island, which they own, in the Caribbean. Mike Routhorn's posts are good, I read his posts before I invested in and set up the new SOLG thread. He's correct when he says stuff like 'you know when the gold bull run in stocks is over when your mates or people on the street are advising you about what gold shares you should buy, this will indicate the top of the market and that you should get out'(my words), but we are a couple of years away from that yet, IMHO. Also this is why when you discuss shares with the normal bloke on the street the first thing that pops into his mind is 'risk' usually because he has or has heard about someone losing loads in stocks, this is usually because they bought at the top of the market/bubble and didn't research the stocks properly. I'm actually trying to study as much about 'bubbles' through out history as I can, as I consider that this could make (and save me) significant wealth over my life. A recent bubble, the UK housing market, for example; And for those looking forward to being able to say one day that they are worth a small fortune, he warns that by 2010 "we will no longer be able to class millionaires as rich people, they won't be that unusual anymore" Douglas McWilliams - chief executive of the Centre for Economics and Business Research. I wonder if Doug is still saying this?? Shows how much these so called financial people know. I have no financial experience/backgroun | jonny flame
13/10/2010 15:50 | middle eastern..........mor .......ok | mazeltov
13/10/2010 10:38 | jonny: would like to stray OT to SOLG as there's not too much noise here! 1. Many thanks for your tip if this hasn't reached you before. 2. I got out fairly quickly, much influenced by Wendy D saying the Lihir Island comparison was not a new story and the area had been explored before and given up. But 3. I think the Australia story is a good one and Fauro etc is a bonus. With the share price now in the 30s, would value your thoughts ahead of the next lot of results. tia engelo. PS by coincidence have just come across Mike Routhorn's post 1249 on SOLG which says is better than I did! | engelo
13/10/2010 10:25 | chrisis: welcome! Good timing imo. What are your first impressions? | engelo
12/10/2010 18:22 | Bought today on the placing news. Not big numbers, but will DMOR tonight. | chrisis33
12/10/2010 16:46 | Market cap 40m GBP. SP Num Shares Market Cap 0.52 77,461,550 £40,280,006 | jonny flame
12/10/2010 13:03 | someuwin - thanks for that, so 2 brokers have buy notes with a price target 100% above the current share price Just a case of waiting for the value to out. | jonny flame
12/10/2010 10:58 | Both Astaire Securities and Daniel Stewart put out BUY notes on PGL today. Daniel Stewart with a target of 110p. | someuwin
12/10/2010 09:11 | so many buy orders went thru...this will pop soon. | m1tu
12/10/2010 09:10 | Yes, I have added here and at MNC this morning. | jonny flame
12/10/2010 08:56 | Nicked a few more at 51.25 . Jonny: placings not always bad news...eg MNC :)) | engelo
12/10/2010 08:10 | rob - not many shares in issue. Also any exploration success will reward shareholders so the placing could significantly reward shareholders, just look at BEM for example. | jonny flame |
