11/4/2014 22:49 | You wouldn't believe we're in the middle of a car market boom, would you? 8-( | jeffian
10/4/2014 18:05 | Yes, but it's all relative. The guy who sold £1.9m-worth still holds 34m shares (2.4% of the company) after the deal. More to the point, the accounts show that as at the end of December 2013, there were still around 32m shares allocated under the option schemes, exercisable in coming years. If you look at the presentation of the accounts, Directors' total remuneration is shown as a mix of salary and bonus by way of share options. They just treat it as part of their 'remuneration package'. | jeffian
10/4/2014 17:27 | Two million quids worth though! | deanowls
10/4/2014 14:21 | Yes, I was surprised that nobody else had picked up on that. However, most of these share awards are treated as a bonus on top of salary and they're given a shedload more for the following year so I'm not sure it's any guidance to the company's prospects. | jeffian
10/4/2014 14:17 | The directors all selling share awards earlier in the week? | deanowls

04/4/2014 10:07 | 1893 & 1894, Agreed. Maybe we'll see an improvement up to the next IMS due in May. | jeffian
04/4/2014 09:58 | Maybe the news has come out on the wrong day, being the last trading day of the tax year. Market volumes are so low & people selling. PDG only 85k traded so far today versus an average 750k in the last 3 months. Let's hope Monday sees some increased buying activity. | mortimer7
04/4/2014 09:34 | So why isn't higher. You'd think today's news would have had an impact. | broadwood
04/4/2014 09:27 | SP up this morning, perhaps buoyed by the release of SMMT registration figures for March which have to be great news for the biggest UK dealer group:- New car registrations biggest month in a decade with demand for new 14-plate seeing 464824 new car registrations, a rise of 17.7% over last March. Since move to twice-yearly plate change in 1999, only March 2004 saw higher registrations (466,954). Year-to-date 2014 registrations up 13.7% on 2013 to 688122 units. SMMT CEO Commented this as "a surprisingly strong level of growth" | mortimer7
29/3/2014 09:35 | FT highlights Director purchase at Lookers today, Pendragon purchase listed but no specific comment. I wonder if the sales going on are tax related? taking loss in the current tax year | dimpkins

26/3/2014 08:28 | Director Buy RNS this morning 200k shares @ 31.25 = £62500 | mortimer7
13/3/2014 19:55 | Not much. Some slight dilution but it is in accordance with information already disclosed in the accounts which point out the dilutive effect of share options/incentives granted. "The calculation of basic, adjusted and diluted earnings per share is based on the following number of shares in issue (millions). 2013 Number 2012 Number Weighted average number of ordinary shares in issue 1,421.0 1,404.5 Weighted average number of dilutive shares under option 55.6 16.5 Weighted average number of shares in issue taking account of applicable outstanding share options 1,476.6 1,421.0 Non-dilutive shares under option 25.5 54.8" | jeffian
13/3/2014 17:29 | What does the news today mean for us here? | scrabble1975
12/3/2014 22:33 | Jeffian, I am also perplexed now as it happens. The whole sector is consistently reporting growth in sales and like for like profits, yet this isn't making progress. In fact, it is retreating. Hmmmm. | scrabble1975
12/3/2014 17:16 | This is a very frustrating share. Good results and everything seems set fair in their market, so why the persistent decline? Did they get ahead of themselves at 40p? | jeffian
07/3/2014 19:13 | 2 million buy yet they go down? | kulvinder |
