Staff? If they do buy sage page they want to be ready to turnaround the poor sales performance from day 1. They are also about to roll out paysafe 2.0 which offers massive cross sell potential which was not possible before due to skrill (plus paysafe card and payolution) and neteller being different platforms....I personally believe this will include a new paysafe branded wallet much like paytm's just launched in Canada....

Why do you recruit staff for an aquisistion. Do they not come with all relevant expertise with the purchase? The classic make or buy decision.

Quite true, acquisition could be tomorrow or whenever but they have been working on a bold acquisition for a number of months now and have recruited the staff so I personally suspect that they are well down the acquisition road.

Wolf, without wishing to answer for sheep herder as I'm sure he can do so himself, but how on earth can ANY private investor know when an acquisition is likely to be announced?? This board has an unfortunate history of unfounded speculation - remember how gaming legislation was a certainty in California and New York last year ? Then the BIG announcement from the company which turned out to be a revamp of its website? The company has said it is pretty close to identifying potential candidates for acquisition ( note....NOT merger candidates, although this could of course happen!) and they expect that this will come off this year but that it may be delayed. Now there MAY be an RNS tomorrow morning or it may be before April 6th or it may be before the AGM ( by the way what makes you think that the pay increases will be SO controversial that the company needs to sugar coat them ?) the fact is that you and sheep herder and EH9 and me and all of the other PI's don't know! There is no harm in speculating about who this acquisition involves and when it will be completed but this almost constant stream of wild guessing is ,once again, raising expectations that could be dashed if it doesn't come off by some arbitrary date. Let us just have faith that the company is working towards making us all richer and that when there's news they'll tell us

Yes SH...I guessed as much .I was complimenting him for posting something that is realistic and dampens expectations of a deal anytime soon.

wolf - the company's language is quite clear to me. They have the firepower for the deal and they're at an early stage in the process.

If they manage to complete a deal soon then I'm totally happy with that and it might help lift this sorry share price But given how long these deals take to form, I'd say we have a 10% chance of a Q2 deal, rising to 50% for Q3. I would not be at all surprised if we don't see anything announced until Q4 unless they change the language they've used in future updates.

wolf - you do make yourself look like a childish unintelligent fool by name calling and the like. It does at least show how much thought goes into your posts and how much credence other posters should give when reading them.

wolf - yes, I do. From their statements that is clear. I wouldn't expect any M&A for at least 6 months.

sheep, the only mis-direction is yours - answer the question posed please - do you think PAYS are only at the window shopping stage in any potential M&A ?

sheared any border collies lately - should have gone to spec savers. - lol

econd question about bold M&A, it's hard to put our collective hands and fire and guarantee that we'll get deals done in a certain timeframe. I'd say that we spent a lot of time looking at a large variety of deals. So we are fairly far down I guess the runway with respect to identifying companies that we like. But as with any M&A pursuits, there is some due diligence required, some negotiation required and probably ultimately some regulatory work that would be required. Our goal has been to look at acquiring somewhere in the vicinity of call it $70 million to $100 million of EBITDA, and we continue to look at the companies that fit that bill. And I'd say that our expectation is that we would conclude a deal in 2017, but again, there are a lot of factors that certainly may stand in the way of that. But I think we're in a good place right now. So we are executing on that plan every day and quite honestly haven't stopped since we acquired Skrill with [these other] [ph] companies.

All you can say with any degree of certainity, based on their recent comments,is they have shortlisted their targets.Trying to read into their every action and drawing conclusions about how far they are down the road towards clinching a deal is however futile and perhaps misleading imo.So in this respect I agree with some of the points made by sheep herder.

Edit: But it is fun to speculate ! :o)

@sheep herder - well done, you managed to do as I suggested - " listen to the full yr presentation" - inclusing those other bits about a " 70-$100mn EBITA target, $1bn or so debt capacity for acqn, etc."... and tell me in all honesty you think they are just at the window shopping stage - give over.
