11/5/2009 21:10 | Wow! I've just read the Chairman's statement and will now be buying the shares. He also has my vote for prime Minister if he decided to run | rocheberie

26/1/2009 20:39 | Sorry, I fully agree for most real estate companies. Panther should survive however, as it is more prudently run with lowish gearing. Panther is a hold imo. On others higher geared companies they are looking in trouble, but to be honest the prices of some are so low that if you are not out already its too late and you may as well stay put! There is a slim chance that commercial property prices turn on a sixpence later in the year with interest rates at close to zero. There will be casualties, that's for sure! | topvest
26/1/2009 18:58 | I'd disagree there and say that lots of real estate companies are looking like their excessive gearing is going to screw them as their NAV becomes negative (I know this is happening to some funds). | arthur_lame_stocks
26/1/2009 06:53 | Yes, but all real estate companies are. They are a hold for me until we get some sort of stability. | topvest
25/1/2009 17:45 | Definitely looking cheap now. | arthur_lame_stocks
17/11/2008 21:32 | They are indeed, albeit they are holding up well due to low leverage. I must admit to have lost my bottle on real estate at the moment. It's amazing, but there are only a couple ungeared real estate plays on the market. These are a safer sanctuary. UK Commercial Property Trust and London and Stamford Limited look very well placed. | topvest
17/11/2008 09:42 | they are cheap bargain | cyril4
16/11/2008 21:23 | Starting to look cheap? | arthur_lame_stocks
28/4/2008 21:48 | Excellent results. NAV held up very well, or should I say increased to £4.65. Some very interesting Perloff ramblings, as ever...top man! Seem to be talking to myself here though | topvest
13/4/2008 18:34 | All quiet here. Results in the next few weeks I expect. They have taken a big stake in Rugby Estates Investment Trust plc; it will be interesting to see what they say about that. | topvest
01/5/2007 09:21 | well done ap now take lpa | cyril4
30/4/2007 20:55 | Good results...usual ramblings. I'll have a read through. Discount to NAV - not many of those around these days!! | topvest
14/2/2007 09:49 | Could be Cyril, he must be after that Saffron Walden land. There´s been a lot of intensive development there. | arthur_lame_stocks
14/2/2007 08:29 | GOOD OLD AP ANOTHER GOOD DEAL,LPA NEXT? | cyril4
13/2/2007 11:52 | Not a busy thread, not surprising for a dull property company. Just noticed this. So Panther bought Howlers properties from Elektron for 4.6m and leased them back at 343.5k a year. I make that a gross yield of 7.46%. Not bad. But if they can increase the rent by 50k the gross yield goes up to 8.55%. Am I right in thinking that´s some way above current commercial yields? Has Andrew Perloff got Panther shareholders a good deal at the expense of Howler/Elekltron shareholders, a company in which he also owns a substantial stake? I could never see any point in EKT buying Howlers except so that AP could get his hands on Howlers properties. | arthur_lame_stocks
23/9/2006 18:22 | There are not many property companies that trade on a discount to net assets - this one of them! NAV approx £4 + deferred tax liability = £4.50 or so + valuation uplift in year, if there is one. Perloff is a trusted pair of hands! | topvest
15/9/2006 06:15 | Jak Fusebox is a troll. Amongst other things it spends its sad life ramping EKT on any board it can find and likes nothing better than winding people up. Responding to its posts is worse than useless. Just use the filter. | puffin tickler
12/12/2005 21:12 | any thoughts on what the out come will be when they re value the entire portfolio?? its states in teh interims its the first time they will of done that in 18 months!!! should we see a jump in the share price?? | chaneale
17/9/2005 15:20 | Taken from the interims released lately... Elektron PLC Our holding is approximately 11.5% of this company which is performing extremely well. Its profits have increased substantially and the company has recommenced paying dividends after three years of being unable to do so. | fusebox |
