03/12/2014 08:43 | Poor results from WH Ireland today! It is pretty clear that there are simply too many small brokers in the market today, the question is....who are going to be the winners? | salpara111

28/11/2014 08:25 | Thanks DD, EezyMunny and Sailing john. Well spotted. If we assume PMR does half of the RPC float, I believe it is tracking around £210m for H2. PMR did £400m in H1 but there was fewer transactions bigger in size so I imagine fees as a percentage will be proportionately higher this half . I am hoping for one more decent transaction and that they dont pay too much in bonuses : ) I am certainly much more confident about h2 than I was two weeks ago. Fingers crossed,GLA, DYOR etc cheers Paduardo | paduardo
28/11/2014 07:54 | Venture Life £4m placing to add to the list | sailing john
27/11/2014 11:56 | spooky,Thanks for earlier explanation, they have to come from somewhere so has to be sellers!.GLDD | discodave4
27/11/2014 11:48 | Presumably a large seller about This is good news in the short term as it creates an inefficient market and an opportunity to buy at depressed prices. This of course assumes that the seller doesn't know something we don't but often sellers have reasons to sell that are unrelated to stock performance/outlook. I think this is the case here given this week's news. It was possible to buy below mid on Monday which marked the bottom and it didn't appear possible to buy much inside the spread when I added again this morning This is a great BB - and I like the fact that we only have a few posters and not much chatter, if any, elsewhere. One of my most important investment criteria!! Edit - Apologies as I think this post is probably grandma and eggs! | sailing john
27/11/2014 11:32 | Well it looks as though the EBT bought it's 20,000 shares at 1.28 this morning, where is this stock coming from? | spooky

27/11/2014 09:47 | paduardo et al PMR joint bookrunner for RPC £195m fundraise today Add that to your list. Always hard to tell what's what with these businesses but I guess a reasonable and possibly strong H2 in store? | eezymunny
27/11/2014 09:38 | DiscoDave4 - The market makers would sell the shares and then expect to cover them later at a lower price in subsequent trading sessions. What has surprised me is the fact that they have never hesitated in selling them to the EBT and they have often offered an attractive price. Why are they always so confident that they will be able to find the stock, Panmure can become pretty illiquid fairly quickly if a few buyers turn up. There doesn't appear to be any more stock around following this mornings buying, so it will be interesting to see what happens if the EBT does turn up as a buyer today or tomorrow. | spooky
27/11/2014 09:28 | Apologies again! haha......so 20,000 EBT today or tomorrow.DD | discodave4
27/11/2014 09:19 | New EBT plan just announced - do they read this thread?!!!! | sailing john
27/11/2014 09:06 | paduardo - Looks promising and starting to wake up perhaps.Apologies for previous post 828, have only just realised that the EBT 20,0000 monthly share purchase stopped in October.spooky - Can only assume mm's have enough on their books, with such a wide spread you will never be able to truly know the number of buys/sells each day/week/month. Please ignore my ignorance but how would short selling generate/free up additional shares?.According to the FCA short selling data there are no shares shorted, or none greater than the notification limit of 0.2% - 0.5% (net) of the issued shared capital (for PMR >31,000 ?).GLDD | discodave4
27/11/2014 09:02 | The Clarkson acquisition and placing should provide significant business for Panmure I have therefore added again this morning at 129p (only 1p inside the horrible spread!) SJ | sailing john
27/11/2014 08:37 | I continue to be a little confused here. Panmure is a relatively small company in market cap. terms these days and there is a limited free float of shares available. How are the market makers able to access blocks of 20,000 shares every month without any difficulty, i follow day to day trading closely enough to know that they are not getting them from their own books. The only conclusion that i can come to is that for some reason they are always willing to short them, where is the constant drip of selling coming from? The other point that bemuses me is why have none of the directors decided to buy any shares, i would call them and ask but the replies that i have received in the past have never been very helpful. | spooky

24/11/2014 20:13 | Guess the buys today weren't the 20,000 EBT share purchase?. Coukd be this week though. At last some movement in the right direction.DD | discodave4 |
