                                 Block Listing

The Company has today applied for 30,000,000 ordinary shares of 1p each
("Ordinary Shares) to be admitted to trading on AIM under a block admission. The
block admission relates to Ordinary Shares which could be issued as follows:


30,000,000 Ordinary Shares under the Osmetech plc Enterprise Management
Incentive Plan.


It is expected that the block admission will become effective on 11 March 2003.
