21/11/2003 08:47 | DEPARTING HEAD OF AIM BECOMES CONSULTANT TO OFEX OFEX plc is delighted to announce the appointment of Simon Brickles, currently Head of AIM at the London Stock Exchange, as a consultant to the OFEX Board. Mr Brickles will be assisting in the development, expansion and promotion of OFEX both domestically and internationally upon joining the market in this role in mid January 2004. Mr Brickles brings a wealth of experience, particularly from his time at AIM, which has gone from strength to strength under the leadership. Following his expert promotion of the market, over 100 new companies joined AIM in 2002, more floats than any other European market. Commenting on the appointment, Jonathan Jenkins, Joint MD of OFEX, said: 'Simon's expertise, experience, contacts and enthusiasm within the smaller companies markets is well respected both in the UK and abroad, but at no place more so than at OFEX. We have worked alongside Simon during his time with AIM, and both parties have always been very supportive of the successful three-tier market in the UK. The success and recognition of the AIM brand is largely a result of Simon's stewardship of the considerable AIM community.' | outsider

21/11/2003 07:57 | WINTERFLOODS TO MAKE MARKETS IN ALL OFEX SECURITIES The OFEX Membership Committee is pleased to announce the approval of the application from Winterflood Securities ('WINS') to join the OFEX market place as a market maker member - a 'specialist'. The approval is conditional upon the move of the OFEX market into a competing quote driven system during 2004, and is therefore subject to appropriate regulatory and technical approvals. Once these issues are resolved, WINS have undertaken to make a market in all OFEX securities. WINS have also agreed to be represented on an OFEX advisory board, which is currently being put in place. This will enhance consultation with our members to ensure any change to the existing market model is implemented in a manner that benefits all members of the OFEX community. Jonathan Jenkins, Joint MD of OFEX said: 'WINS is a name synonymous with small cap company trading and we are delighted that they have committed themselves so fully to the expansion of the OFEX market. Existing specialists - Teather & Greenwood Ltd and J P Jenkins Ltd - have also formally agreed to move to competing quotes in 2004, and we have at least one further organisation in the specialist application process, subject to the move to a competing model. It is envisaged that all of these specialists will be represented on the advisory board.' Julian Palfreyman, Managing Director of Winterflood Securities, commented: 'We are pleased to join OFEX and we look forward to offering a market making service in all OFEX securities. This will bring further benefits to our clients not only through the enhancement of our already substantial coverage of UK equities but also by opening up access to OFEX securities via Winner - our electronic trading service.' | outsider

05/11/2003 09:23 | Ofex volume has been very good for the last 3 months. Sure they had a difficult time, now boom times are back. Some Ofex stocks are trading better than some AIM stocks. Winterflood is just one of the groups that want to become Market Makers. | big black dog

26/10/2003 15:59 | Wouldn't be suprised if most who post anti-ofex have had their fingers burnt due to their own investing abilty...or should that read disabilty? Either that or they are involved with a rival market perhaps? | outsider
26/10/2003 12:10 | Markets like OFEX have their place on a highly selective basis and that means good companies that will move on to the likes of AIM. | m1connection
26/10/2003 12:09 | Good to see that Glenn and Ashley are just getting along fine....lol ! | m1connection
26/10/2003 11:34 | May have been more admissions than deletions recently, but none have raised any money except Enhance Technologies that is coming in a week. OFEX are going to go down unless they get their game on the road soon! At the end of the day this market has massive potential - it is time for a bigger player to take over. | simonevans

04/9/2003 00:30 | Ofex interview here: | outsider
21/8/2003 21:20 | Price moving-up strongly. Maybe this is a sign that OFEX activity is ticking-up...Teather and Greenwood involvement would be a big +, but they desperately need some new issues that raise new funding. Daniel Stewart and Ruegg seem to have given up recently! | simonevans |
