08/1/2008 23:58 | Calamity - be careful. You have spent a long time getting your profit in RTD and NSB and as you say there are a lot of small caps getting murdered at the moment. May be best to wait a while. If you are desperate to get back in the market have a look at Corac (CRA). Price rose today (e-mail tip??) on decent volume and is just below all time high. Not giving you any more info as that way you have to do your own research and I don't want to be responsible for any losses you may incur. I would add that if you do fancy this share then you may be wise to buy on any pull back to say 50-54ish. Good luck what ever you decide. | qackers
08/1/2008 18:18 | Sold a few today.....31,176 to be precise...to fund a purchase of 100,000 shares in JRVS.....do I sense some cringing.....however Looking out for more opportunities.....an | calamity
08/1/2008 17:39 | Hard luck there, Tim. While NSB should be going for nearer 50p, at least you won't be feeling as sick as that would have made you! In spite of the carnage in small cos elsewhere which seems to be throwing up some remarkable bargains, I am happy to sit (more safely, I hope) in NSB to get the last drop of juice from this particular lemon. Today's unexplained mover is SN. (Up 10% in two days) Anyone else in that? | boadicea
08/1/2008 17:32 | Thanks Tim and sincere commiserations on poor timing- sods law! What threads do you visit? I'm mainly watching OXB and PTR- more jam tomorrow stocks. | nashwan123
08/1/2008 16:30 | Happy, healthy and prosperous New year to all! It's also Au revoir as I sold my little lot just a couple of days after the announcement before Christmas. Didn't seem much point in hanging on as I couldn't see a counter bid coming. and the money has been gaining interest elsewhere ever since. We had been waiting so long for a bid it seemed unlikely there would be two. I have to say what a waste of time and effort the last 3 years have been with NSB. For a long time I had threequarters of my investment money in NSB and I think it was the share overhang that killed the share price rising. Every year they came out with good figures and were cash rich, but the price stubbonly refused to budge as into any rally there were sellers. Having reduced my holding a year ago, I finally gave up a month before the offer as the share price dropped and sold all but 10,000 just to keep an interest. Talk about timing! How unlucky can you get! Still, not going to top myself, but damn annoyed! Well done to all those who held on. The way my luck has gone with NSB you may well get a further bid now. LOL Anyhow, good luck to everyone with their future investments and it's been good to chat with you. Regards Tim | timsnaps
08/1/2008 10:33 | Yep.......seems It's not coming lob....maybe eleventh hour or on the gong.... | calamity
08/1/2008 10:05 | Where's our counter bid then? Running out of time. | loafofbread
07/1/2008 14:32 | Wooly..is that anything to do with the tardes....we could do with that time machine here.....travel forward in time with the time lord.....and make a mint on our return....lol... | calamity
07/1/2008 13:13 | BB yes, but over 1M shares tarded today so you never know, there could yet be an alternative... | wooly62
07/1/2008 11:42 | Looks like the BB is though.....OH for a counter bid....then the sparks would fly....but as every day goes by that now looks unlikely....but who knows..... | calamity
04/1/2008 17:49 | Cal - not dying literally (I hope)! | wooly62
04/1/2008 15:38 | Well Wooly....I hope not quite dying...hope to be around for a further few years....... | calamity
03/1/2008 17:29 | Those who are left are a dying breed.... Has anyone been monitoring daily volumes lately? Whilst today's volume isn't massive, it is higher than I'd expect given where we are - or am I just looking for a sign of a counter-bid that just won't be there? | wooly62
03/1/2008 16:53 | Casul........the author of the threads over the past years...Maxwellman.. | calamity
03/1/2008 15:50 | Is there a new thread for 2008 ? Can't seem to find it... What am I going to do during work hours ? :( | casul
03/1/2008 15:05 | Happy New Year everyone. I will miss this thread so thanks to all posters & good luck to you all. | a0152232
03/1/2008 08:56 | Happy New Year to you too KM. Yes re the commission, but that amounts to so little I chose to ignore it. A 1.3% discount for a few weeks wait makes me leave the investment in place, pending transferring it into some nice safe premium bonds! | wooly62
02/1/2008 21:23 | Isn't it the case that if the takeover goes through we get value without any trading commission? - Hence you've got to take the additonal 0.5p plus the commission that you'd pay if you sold out now. After 3 years, what difference does a few more weeks make? Happy new year Wooly plus all other holders out there. | komatsuman
02/1/2008 20:59 | Thanks Webley. So the question is whether or not the interest lost by waiting until 7th Feb is worth a 0.5p per share discount. Unless holders either need the proceeds to pay off high interest debt or have a better use for the cash, I don't think it is and will wait in the (probably) forelorn hope that a higher bid will come in - because I'd kick myself if I waited over 3 years and missed the chance to make another 10%+ at the very last moment. | wooly62
02/1/2008 12:29 | The RNS suggested it's done and dusted on 7 Feb - assuming it goes through on 16 Jan and 6 Feb. | webley
02/1/2008 12:11 | Nor me. Even without a counter-bid, I think the discount to the offer price means it may be worth waiting. When are we due to receive payment assuming the vote is positive? | wooly62
02/1/2008 10:19 | Looks as though there is not going to be any bidding war - pity. Has anyone had their paperwork re the vote yet? | webley
31/12/2007 13:47 | Calamity - it was probably a lucky tip ;) - pretty convinced there will be no other bid, but what do I know....currently lurking on the Toledo Mining thread but will pop back no and again just to see how the T/O is progressing | maxwellman
30/12/2007 18:55 | By the way where will we find you now.......... | calamity |
