Superb advice Andy, first time you have talked sense, however best way is stop the spread is to test people quickly and isolate those infected. Also public health England have updated that information today and increased the distance to 2 meters.

I suppose if you cost the disruption of a lockdown (say 1 cluster per European country) for 2 weeks, then buying test kits sounds a wise investment for a region, to (better) contain it when it starts.

HowTo avoid Cvirus

Wash your hands frequently
Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use an alcohol-based hand rub if your hands are not visibly dirty.

Why? Washing your hands with soap and water or using alcohol-based hand rub eliminates the virus if it is on your hands.

Practice respiratory hygiene
When coughing and sneezing, cover mouth and nose with flexed elbow or tissue – discard tissue immediately into a closed bin and clean your hands with alcohol-based hand rub or soap and water.

Why? Covering your mouth and nose when coughing and sneezing prevent the spread of germs and viruses. If you sneeze or cough into your hands, you may contaminate objects or people that you touch.

Maintain social distancing
Maintain at least 1 metre (3 feet) distance between yourself and other people, particularly those who are coughing, sneezing and have a fever.

The FTSE is down -3% and this is not even the tip of the iceberg regarding the after effects of the virus on world economy. I took the decision to get out of all sectors and buy loads of NCTY + pharmas and gold. Many sectors from industrials, retailers, food producers, softwares, oilers and miners will be hit hard for the next 6 months at least. Why ? Every time a US heavy weight issues a profit warning because of the virus negative effects, the markets will drop a few %. And this will continue until the virus is wholly controlled and he world economy starts to recover. IMHO, this situation will take a minimum of 12 months. By then, IMO, NCYT is expected to exceed conservatively £5.
