01/12/2014 14:40 | At these levels, we are a very geared play on the oil price. Interesting to see that OPEC didn't cut, it looks like the Saudi's are completely browned off with it all. Consensus opinion is that if it's hurting Putin and Co, then good. I can see oil gently rebounding back up into the $80's by the year end, only a personal view though. | ![]() professor pettigrew

01/12/2014 14:21 | Hi Topicel - thanks for your post. Been watching CNBC since early this morning, differing views on oil (see it's actually recovered the early losses today). Although NTOG weren't mentioned by name the smaller oilers and frackers were discussed, basically we appear safe as production costs (don't ask me how) fall in situations like this. They were even discussing how some bigger companies that have farmed out a percentage of their plays (like we have a percentage WI in some) are preparing to cut wages to make up for the price falls. Interestingly a guy on Share Prophets over the weekend said he had spoken with ML and amazingly we are okay down to $25 per barrel. I don't know where those figures come from, but if true that must be reassuring. Also noted a 7m buy after hours on Friday, and someone bought 12.5m this morning, that's over £30k so someone is positive. PP | ![]() professor pettigrew

01/12/2014 12:24 | Although oil is clearly now in a low priced environment my low target of $70 for a barrel Brent could be the floor. And even at that price some will flourish. For instance I chatted today to Matt Lofgran, the CEO of AIM listed Nostra Terra Oil & Gas (NTOG) and as a US conventional play his operations wash their face at well below $25. | jw24
01/12/2014 12:20 | If you think $35 is low you need to take a look at the article again because it stated $25. Utter rubbish. | jw24
01/12/2014 11:13 | Cheers whilst we await further production updates | ![]() boo 2 goose

01/12/2014 10:26 | pdt, Fair comment, but I have read the $80 in relation to oil, rather than gas, and it is widely quoted, and they are referring to ALL IN production costs, rather than drilling costs. The drilling will be cheaper, but once the well is established, are NTOG's all in production costs including M & A 50% lower? That is my point. | ![]() andy
01/12/2014 09:28 | Andy - that price of $80 is for unconvential shale gas - much deeper than the plays we are interested in. Our drill costs are roughly 50% of the unconventional plays. | pdtrussell
01/12/2014 09:24 | Boo, Well in reading all the recent articles about the Saudis bringing down the price of oil to scupper the US fracking, the figure of $80 seems key. So $35 looks way too low to me. | ![]() andy
01/12/2014 09:19 | 'Cash Flow Positive' is ML's go to term - no one is quite sure what it means. We can weather the storm. It might be prudent to delay the WB & HP drills until oil is back above $80/barrel. That might already be the plan, ML should really make a statement soon as the goal-posts have well and truely changed! | pdtrussell
01/12/2014 09:14 | No I'm not sure agreed it does seem low. It's just what Matt Said | ![]() boo 2 goose

01/12/2014 08:39 | BB, A new low this morning, and the price of oil is clearly being reflected in the share price here. The sudden drop from $110 to $66 a barrel, if not reversed soon, if going to claim a few casualties in this sector I'm afraid. I wonder what are the all in production costs for NTOG currently? | ![]() andy

01/12/2014 05:42 | Professor Pettigrew 3 Nov'14 - 14:11 - 2994 of 2994 0 0 Nymex oil steady at just below $81, despite the gloomster predictions of a collapse to around $70. Just won't do it. $90+ by the year end.... Wrong, as usual... Light Sweet Crude Oil NYMEX:CLF15 64.56 My airline shares are doing rather well though. | ![]() michaelsadvfn |
