Leeds picks Northgate to deliver effective data management
23/10/2007 [General]

In a contract to run over five years, Northgate will provide Leeds City Council with a new master data management service, providing a unified real-time view of the customer, gathered from data held across a range of other council systems.

The contract will include consultancy, advice, project management and support and the provision of the Initiate Citizen™ solution which enables local authorities to combine data held across a multitude of corporate and departmental IT systems into centralised master records.

The aim is to provide better quality data which provides the council with an overview and history of individual citizens' needs and requirements.

Leeds City Council will focus on developing and using a customer master index to meet business requirements for a single view of the customer and to support further council partnership working.

Leader of Leeds City Council and executive member for ICT services, Councillor Mark Harris, said,

"We are committed to delivering accessible services to all our citizens and to do this we must ensure that we hold the highest quality data about our citizens to inform the identification of citizen need and the delivery of proactive and personalised services.

"This project will enable us to reach out to citizens who the council have been less successful in engaging with and we are delighted to be working with Northgate."

Joe Bradley, Managing Director of Local Government & Social Housing at Northgate Public Services, said:

"We welcome the opportunity to work with Leeds City Council and to use our relationship with Initiate to help deliver excellence in data management. Accurate and joined-up information is the foundation stone on which citizen-centred services can be delivered, and we believe that increasing emphasis must be placed on improving data quality if we are to meet the needs of a diverse and changing population."

New Island Resources Inc.: Investment in Prominex Resources Corp.

Oct 12, 2007 (Marketwire via COMTEX News Network) --
New Island Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:NIS) (New Island) of St. John's, NL is pleased to report that it has subscribed for 8,000,000 units of Prominex Resources Corp.'s (Prominex) (TSX VENTURE:PXR) non-brokered private placement announced October 9, 2007.

Each unit consists of one common share and one common share purchase warrant. The units are priced at $0.10 per share and the warrants can be exercised at a price of $0.13 per share for a period of 18 months from closing.

Under the terms of the subscription $400,000 is payable on closing and $400,000 payable within 45 days.

In respect to its initial investment, New Island will not become a "control person" in respect of Prominex as the term is used in Canadian securities regulations. This will not, however, restrict New Island's ability to acquire further shares in Prominex following the private placement.

As part of the transaction, Prominex will use its best efforts to ensure that two nominees of New Island are elected to Prominex's Board of Directors.

Harold Wareham states that New Island is pleased to attain a position in Prominex which gives it access to a fairly advanced project in a highly prospective base metal region in Central Newfoundland.

Information on the company and its properties can be viewed at www.newislandresources.com.

u do seem to be out of step with the market and the large buys that have been going through recently.
Perhaps u have a different agenda to them or perhaps u can read a balance sheet/set of accounts better than the buyers.

Bonkers, Chris Stone salvaged this company when it was MDIS, good grief, a village idiot would recognise the excellent work Stone has done and is continuing to do!!! (though village idiots are thankfully few and far between)

Apparently in The Times last week it stated NIS has a rating of 12 times current forecasts which looksd too low but aquisitions leave it £420m in debt.HOLD.

We need to clear this debt.

The share price speaks for Stone & his private investors, are some the the investors partially blind, The Beano is a better read than NIS accounts & Stone's vision for NIS.

Trying to justify Stone's overseas Empire building exploits.

When he decides to dismount his personal, egotistical white charger, NIS will be in a better place.

Good company, good products and services, sub-standard egotistical CEO.
