mean potential of over 3 billion barrels of oil in place, can see this being snapped up pretty soon

The Giove and Rovesti oil fields have been independently assessed by Blackwatch
Petroleum Services ("Blackwatch") to have 53.2 million barrels of probable oil
reserves. In addition, as a result of work undertaken, Northern recognises the
potential both for oil prospects with a mean of over 3 billion barrels of oil
in place and gas prospects with a mean of over 2 Tcf of gas in place, which is
over 1 billion barrels oil equivalent of prospective resource in the two
permits, split approximately equally between oil and gas prospects.

imperial CC could well be right but I would urge caution. Guyanne could fail, Shell may not drill - both are as possible as your suggestion and both will be critical to the share price even from this level.

In fact if you take it that Guyanne has a 1 in 6 chance of coming in then the chance of a further 15-20% fall in the next 6wks is distinctly possible.
However a good result would certainly have this back well above 100p.

I would also now wait til the results are in, anyday now, before making a purchase.

Of course I am only urging caution to the unwary, there is no way I would be buying back in to Muzzers folly.

I have made good money trading NOP all the way up from around the 10p level but I admit I was caught out by the RNS on 27th. However, as the price currently stands this is by far the best opportunity I have ever seen. I made an easy pound a share buying BP when the company unjustifiably almost halved in value a year ago. I see this as a similar case on a smaller scale and have filled my boots today.

ntbb - an "O" trade is a conventional bog-standard trade, the type of trade recorded when you or I make an online transaction.

Lol, kind of makes your heart warm and brings a tear to your eye (from laughing), all these newbies so enthusiastic. Soon get that knocked out of them.

shell has the money, expertise, the rigs, the connection, what more could you want!

Ermmm to actually make the decision and drop a well. Afterall it was early 2009 they farmed it out.

You start off all enthusiastic and optimistic....then you start to notice things aren't quite as rosy as you first thought.
A bit of disappointment along the way leads to disillusionment.
Then you find things that you expected to happen quickly take longer ...or don't happen at all.
You find the reality is disappointing.
You turn to alcohol to numb the pain.
You buy a shed so you can hide away your sorrow at what might have been.

A story of life? marriage? NOP?

I've bought a few here. I think they chucked everything, including the kitchen sink into the last release and there is still technical remediation work that they can undertake to solve some of the issues.
