Yep still holding DLG still a little under water on it but holding out for now.

Assuming stays at these levels or above it'll be a great week for me.

Fingers crossed AV. take them out then I'll split the proceeds into new investments.

Am I the first today.. A negligible amount down , (a coffee and burger's worth}. Happy enough with that given my monthly SIPP pension came out and I had PAY & DEC dropping for Xd. So I'm saying all square. EdIt Malc C beat me to it.

Well done all who hold DLG;

Down £60 on day,

More blues than reds, but some large XD falls for LIO,and IMB and wide spreads on ULTP and HAT dragged figures down,

Yes, very sad.

FSFL and NESF were my last two purchases, though small weights. Took a look at GSF and decided to pass for now.

So GDP per capita must be falling faster than I thought if immigration is even higher than previously thought:

Brucie5, there are certainly some apparent bargains around at the moment. On that note, I topped up the Grandkids ISA's with a few more FSFL yesterday.

It was flippin' freezin' on the shopfloor when I made my cappuccino just now. Someone had leaned something against the side of the warm air heater which distorted the cover and triggered the microswitch! Thankfully a good thump got it going before I called out the gas engineer at vast expense!

AV. doing for me this morning.

AV's bid for DLG not doing my lot any good this morning. I do wonder how many mergers actually work out. I've held DLG in the distant past, but gave up with them when I realised they were ripping me off as a customer. My niece is a senior manager with Loungers, I thought about buying them earlier this year but didn't as I didn't want to start asking her about their performance as I inevitably would.

Looks otherwise like another day/week/month of underperformance. xds not helping, particular as they won't arrive until jan.

Morning everyone.

Still frosty here, but sunshine and a very blue sky.

-12.2C at Inverlaidnan, narrowly misses a new Scottish low for the season (after -12.4C last week). I think -5.2C Llanarmon-yn-ial, nr Wrexham, is a new low for Wales. England was not close to last week's -10.4C but did have widespread frost in most non-coastal areas. The school run was jolly cold in the shade again, with the sun barely peeping over the horizon.

Renewi, DLG and Loungers - companies keep disappearing from UK stockmarkets. I think there's been about 10 this week. At least these three have seen prices rise on bids.

Gateside, we were at -0.7°C first thing this morning and that was cold enough! Lovely sunny morning now, just right for a lovely walk if I wasn't stuck in the office!

Nice to see the pound gaining a bit against the Euro. Managed 1.1985 yesterday which has helped push our average for this year up to 1.1791

Our landlords managing agent has obviously been talking to "Rachel from Accounts" as our service charge for next year has increased by over 15%. Every little helps - or not!

Morning All.

Totally agree on these matt finishes that seem to have become quite popular of late, makes me want to get the T-Cut out and bring them back to life.

I do like a decent colour to my cars!

Very surprising 2-0 win for QPR at Cardiff lifting them off the bottom. A 'smash and grab' performance by all accounts :-)

Cold tonight.

Markets closed in USA thursday for Thanksgiving Holiday.

carp , looks as though that bid for DLG has more or less gone hostile. Hope you get the 245p

AV. made an approach for DLG... rejected but interesting none the less. That's two approaches from two separate companies this year.

I hold DLG and AV.

Up a negligible amount. Profits warning at KETL caused the biggest movement- AV only worthwhile gainer.

I'm up +0.527% on the day today (FTSE100 +0.195%).

Best rises: TSCO +2.14%, BLND +1.88% and AV. +1.56%.

Worst falls: SMDS -2.02%, KGF -1.23% and S32 -1.03%.

Glad I trimmed SMDS yesterday. Big rise for Tesco.

Very cold today after morning rain.

New car colours in the last 5+ years have been awful. Do some people want a dirty colour car so they don't have to wash it? Seeing sludge coloured cars in the middle of summer is depressing. Surely it guarantees higher depreciation than something that looks much more appealing than winter road spray. They must must have higher accident rates, too. People won't see them. I once had a beige/mushroom Volvo that was semi-metallic and looked okay close up - but people repeatedly pulled out in front of me (back in the day when it was not normal to drive badly, like now).

Never moved much all day but managed to close down. -0.1%.

A very cold day thanks to the wind, feeling even colder than last week's worst. I went for a walk around the village at lunchtime but ended up jogging more than walking to try get warm. The sun never got high enough to get through the gaps in the clouds even though they seemed to be just about in the majority straight overhead. Light snow showers continue on the North York Moors and Yorkshire Wolds. That will encourage it to get very cold later. 4.7C after -1.0C.
