One of my better calls... I've learnt the hard way not to sit around when gains are available elsewhere.

I should have sold mine in the market - the shares I want to buy have gone up more than the extra from the takeover - and they keep going up while we wait for our money :-(

got shot of mine at 93.5 the other week, on the open market... reinvested half via isa in tht and tcg, and other half in lam and lvd via Sipps. so have long since made up the 2.5p extra i would have got here by holding on for the cheque. very happy!

Thanks david. Apparently Barclays need a further -up to 5 working days - before they credit their nominees so more waiting. Thought that if they were already in receipt the countdown would have started, but seemingly not.

I have a Crest a/c - not expecting cash until 14 March at the earliest - 14 days after something - see last RNS above.

Nothing yet and unlikely to see anything until the 14th day, and only then if your nominee stockbroker doesn't hold on for a bit before divvying up.

you're only going to take that gamble, if it's not a gamble... ie if you've been tipped the nod.

We could all possibly make a lot more if we stay in, the gamble is we may be delisted (depending on DAMACs position) and unable to trade.

the sad thing is that if you were really "in" with damac i am very sure you would be receiving more than 96p over the next 18 months

A man of principle Dynamo! But only since the deal was settled, I imagine?

I rang Barclays because I hadn't been to my letterbox and he assured me that was enough to make my acceptance, so I hope thats correct and I am not in with Damac!

Out of interest to the masochists among us, there are only two flats still unsold at the Lancs. The £8.25M flat has gone, only the £16M and the £2.5M remain....and with spring coming it will soon be a fait acomplis. Well and truly turned over.

Thats what I understand noddy (see below).
See DAMAC haven't accepted yet.

Subject to the Offer becoming or being declared unconditional (except as provided in paragraph 6 of
Part 2 of Appendix 1 to this document in the case of certain Overseas Shareholders), settlement of the
consideration to which any Northacre Shareholder is entitled under the Offer will be effected by the
despatch of cheques or by crediting CREST accounts (as applicable) (i) in the case of acceptances
received, complete in all respects, by the later of 28 February 2013 and the date on which the Offer
becomes unconditional, within 14 days of such date, or (ii) in the case of acceptances of the Offer
received, complete in all respects after the later of 28 February 2013 and the date on which the Offer
becomes unconditional but while it remains open for acceptance, within 14 days of such receipt, and in
either case in the following manner:

well, i cost myself 1.94p a share and a few hundred quid, thanks to not noticing that tdw had set 25 feb as the cut-off for acceptance. ended up selling on open market... at least i get the cash in three days, and know i have it for reinvestment in my isa x 2 both pre april 5 and post april 5. still, a bit miffed.

Out of interest - has anyone opted for the loan note option ?

Just curious as with a UK blue chip would have jumped at the chance - not so sure with (what I see) a bunch of chancers

First closing date is 28th. Nominee brokers wanted replies earlier- Barclays -22nd Feb. I think they (offeror) have extended the closing date to 14th March now. But acceptances before the 28th will be settled on or before the 14th March IMO.

so was the closing date 25/2 as TDW indicate, or 14 March as the offer document indicates?

I understand that its payable within 14 days from the first closing date (28th Feb) now that it's been declared unconditional, assuming you accepted before the 28th, if you accept after the 28th you get settled 14 days from receipt of your acceptance. Probably get it on the 14th Mar and your nominee s'broker will take a further week to distribute. As far as CGT is concerned it will be a gain/loss attributable to the current tax year.

like many i'm expecting to receive a five-figure cheque once the deal goes through... a couple of questions:

1) are we likely to get this before the end of the current tax year? i hope so as i want to make use of some of the funds for this year's isa allowance.

2) what are the implications for CGT? wondering if i'll have to sell a dog or two to offset gains above and beyond the threshold
