No you're not mitzis, but I don't think there are many of us left. This is a long term play and people can see quicker profits at present.

I think this could be a great play for 2009, particularly as part of a final hurrah for commodities. The biggest problem is the spread, and the small amount of stock available to buy at any one time.

Nice to see a reversal even though oils are being hit. Hugely undervalued IMO.
Probably disappear though by the close!

Am I ? I think it was very balanced and not rose tainted. One would be extremely foolish to say Crude can't go to $50 and with it, CPO down to $3XX..

LOL, good intentions maybe but incompetant all the same. A non-exec is meant to know know a bit about corporate compliance and protect shareholders !

India and China are the biggest consumers of palm oil for cooking. Both contries are still enjoying decent economic growth albeit at a slowing rate. You painting too depresssing a picture Woracle....

Atleast the non-exec had the intention to buy a decent chunk...:o)

I dont hold..yet

Todays RNS is quite amusing but didnt instill you with confidence about the non-execs of NBPO !

Thanks for that woracle, very informative. Bit of upward movement today, but an enormous spread on the share price This is definately a long term play in my SIPP, not a short term play that has gone wrong.

They have spent quite a lot of cash since H1 though. $60M for Ramu, $20M dividends paid, and earmarked about $30M for refinery. CPO is about $500/tonne now so not much margin now. They had sold forward about a 3rd of this years production at over $900 this year so thats good, and they command $50 more for CPO as they are one of only 3 RSPO certified producers. But the market is pricing for recession at maybe $400/tonne, even $300/tonne for next few years. These are barely breakeven for most producers. If that happens, profits will vanish in a flash but they will survive and the time to accumulate will be during the recession years. Best to see palm producers as pension plays as the long term story for palm has not changed.. I think they totally overpaid for Ramu and shouldnt have got involved in a bidding war at the top of this cycle. Should have kept that 60M cushion for worse case scenario where there are 2 years at $300/tonne...
