25/7/2007 09:42 | peteark - the US legislation has done nothing at all to stop gambling online in the US. All the websites are continuing absolutely as normal. All that has happened is the US have picked on a few UK companies which were making too much money and decided to clobber them. This is pure hypocrisy. Rest assured no US companies or gambling interests have suffered in any way at all as a result of the legislation. So is this your idea of the yanks getting something right? As for underhand dealings at NLR, there has never been any hint of that so far. On the contrary the company has bent over backwards to comply with US directives and I think we would have heard by now if the forensic accountants had found anything. | atomic dog
25/7/2007 09:32 | I met a lot guys on sunday that run poker and sports betting sites in Germany most of them said that they are are about to drop nlr ir have dropped it they just dont feel it is a good product to have on there site. | shaunoneill29
25/7/2007 09:25 | Not sure why a person would invest in any gambling related stock. There are many other good growth areas in the stock market. The gambling bubble has popped, although others will argue this generally because they are locked in. In the future I believe each country will have its own legislation related to online gambling. For sure people will always gamble online however the monopoly by certain companies is over for good. By the looks of things here, it appears underhand dealings could have been going on, to that end the legislation brought in by the US seems to have been a good thing. Not for shareholders I grant you, but in general terms, mind you it makes a change for the yanks to get get anything right. Tradex you are right about rover, I have read some of his posts on the 888 thread, he is not taken seriously by anyone on the boards. Of course just my own opinions | ![]() peteark
