Old money still 19p before consolidation. Each year gov % reduces through buybacks and institutional selling. Can see 100% increase in shares over next 3 years so will now focus here over Lloyd's.

Now the difference between NWG and BARC is only 8p instead of the usual 30p we have been used to have the years.

This is how crazy this is, I recon it will shoot when people stop shorting it for affect and go back to the fundamentals.

its quite surreal isn't it that because they sell some shares to some people at 1.90 that people short it to that value as if its worth that value, and that is the only reason for doing it.

if you worked into the market over time then you probably would not have known anything. and if they wanted to buy that many then it probably as an average cost them more, this really is equilibrium, it should not change the price really, but it does, any reason to move the market hey lol.

Yer I read sky didn't have it confirmed and was just speculation at the point in time they reported on it and reported just that as well, they said it was speculation, which has obviously panned out to be true. So that explains the delay, it was speculation news and then there was actual news.

Still this is only a change of hands to who owns them unless someone has enough to have a controlling interest.

Carnt see at this point what difference it makes to anything at all.

UK Government Investments Limited ("UKGI")

Disposal of shares in NatWest Group plc for £ 1.1bn in total

Further to its announcement on 10 May 2021, UKGI announces the successful completion of the disposal of part of HM Treasury's shareholding in NatWest Group plc (the " Company "). The disposal was effected by way of a placing (the " Placing ") of 580,000,000 ordinary shares with a nominal value of £1.00 each (the "Placing Shares ") through an accelerated bookbuilding process to institutional investors.

The Placing price was 190 pence per Placing Share (the "Placing Price"). The proceeds from the sale of the Placing Shares will be £1.1 billion.

As a result of the Placing, the shareholding of HM Treasury has decreased from 6,918,753,194 ordinary shares, representing approximately 59.8% of the issued ordinary share capital of the Company, to 6,338,753,194 ordinary shares, representing approximately 54.8% of the issued ordinary share capital.

Subject to certain exceptions, UKGI and HM Treasury have undertaken to the Bookrunners named below not to sell further ordinary shares of the Company for a period of 90 calendar days following the completion of the Placing without the prior written consent of a majority (by participation) of the Bookrunners.

Settlement and delivery of the Placing Shares is expected to take place on 13 May 2021.

Barclays Bank PLC, Citigroup Global Markets Limited, Goldman Sachs International and Morgan Stanley & Co. International plc acted as joint bookrunners (the "Bookrunners") in connection with the Placing.

Details of the latest disposal emerged before the stock market closed on Monday in a report by Sky News, before an official statement was issued by UKGI. The shares fell almost 4% from 204.9p to end the day down at 197p.

be good soon when the gov does not have a controlling share then they can F there way Off. Governments are never good for banks, so another 6% and we can tell them what to do and set our own rules which will be far more profitable than what they say, so its a good thing in the long run.

Latest data for Greece state 3.6 million doses administered, although that will include people who have had 2 doses.

it really would not surprise me if they whammed it back up like that as well to burn the ones who did it, as the days at these lows are soon to be a thing of the past.
I cannot see any supporting evidence to think we will have another lockdown as well, our death rate's are in single figures the population is nearly all vaccinated, I've now had my second Jab, they hospitals are not over loaded.

the vaccine is an ongoing rolling thing now, and new ones will be coming out all the time, the summer is approaching, by the time winter comes, more vaccines will be here and if it mutates then the vaccine will be adjusted.
So for the UK I cannot foresee a further lockdown, but the likes of Greece, 11 million people and only 1 million vaccinated and until the holiday makers came last year had very low figures, then it went boom on the back of them, I can see the likes of them having further lockdowns but I carnt see it with us in the UK.

All the target prices set on this stock are way higher than right now, I can imagine a stunt like this will only end up with the shorter's losing money not making it, this share is to popular now.

That has been mentioned earlier, maxk - always a possibility, but complete radio silence, including not replying to a private message, is out of character bigtime.
